GENERAL INFORMATION
BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a sector leader in the protection of people who have suffered from war, veterans, refugees and stateless persons. We seek recovery and integration for those we help. Our team protects people's rights and influences laws and decisions in Ukraine and the world to become fairer. We are actively developing a network of partners for localized support of those who need it. The fund is 13 years old. Today, the team of BF "Right to Defense" has about 1,200 specialists. Geography: 22 regions of Ukraine, as well as a representative office in Poland. More than 3,300,000 people have received aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. Our work was recognized at the national level: in 2024, the Foundation won the first place in the "Charity Ukraine" competition in the "All-Ukrainian charity" category, entered the top 10 of the Forbes Ukraine rating of "50 best charitable organizations" and took 9th place in the integrity rating of Ukrainian charitable foundations.
PULSE (Protection, Unity, Leadership, Support, Empowerment) is the first national a consortium of civil society organizations that have combined their unique expertise to protect and assist war victims. It is financed with the support of UK aid from the government of Great Britain, implemented under the coordination of the BF "Right to Defense". Support for this project in Ukraine by the UK government is provided through the SHARP component of its Humanitarian Aid, Rehabilitation and Protection Program.
In the period from September 2025 to March 2028, the Fund will implement measures to monitor protection, provide legal aid, increase access to basic services and build community resilience in the regions of Ukraine: Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. The activity takes place in regions and communities with different levels of security risks, including high ones. The Foundation organizes working conditions taking into account the security context and provides measures to reduce risks and protect the team.
General description of the vacancy:
The position operates within the framework of the implementation of the mini-grant project within the framework of the National Consortium FCDO PULSEcoordinated by the BF "Right to Defense". The specialist/position in working with communities will be responsible for establishing and maintaining partnership relations with communities (local government, communal institutions, initiative groups and other stakeholders) during the implementation of tenders for the provision of mini-grants. The community specialist works under the direct supervision of the regional protection coordinator in coordination with the grant manager.t-weight: 400; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none"> Work autonomously with the scope of tasks and activities defined by the Regional Protection Coordinator and Community Protection Advisor. Perform regular exchange of information with the Grant Manager (competition organization/contracting/reporting) Interact with other colleagues, within the limits and in the manner determined by the conditions of activity implementation. Establishment and support of cooperation with interested communities, local government, communal institutions, service providers and initiative groups of residents within the scope of activity implementation. Ensure regular and effective communication with communities/applicants/grantors regarding competition rules, application requirements and implementation, within the scope of authority. Collection and summarization of information on barriers to access to services/services in communities (brief consultations, analysis of appeals, local data). Conduct (in coordination with the Grant Manager) monitoring visits to communities: check the fact of implementation, compliance with the grant agreement/plan, quality and availability of results; provide photo/video evidence (without sensitive data) and a brief report of the visit. Maintain regular exchange of information with the Regional Protection Coordinator to ensure referral and cross-program interaction as needed. Comply with the Code of Conduct and Foundation Policies. Professional requirements: Higher education (social sciences/public administration/social work/law/communications or related fields). Experience of working in international donor projects related to humanitarian aid and charity, as well as experience of cooperation with local self-government bodies.
Data collection experience, basic literacy in Google Drive/Google Workspace, spreadsheets, working with documents.
Readiness for business trips within the region / Ukraine.
High communication and organizational skills.

Contract until December 30, 2026 with the possibility of extension, which depends on further financing and personal work results.
