DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Emergency Response Program Specialist to join the team in Kharkiv covering the activities of DRB in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
General purpose roles
Under the technical and day-to-day direction of the Humanitarian Emergency Response Program Manager, the Humanitarian Emergency Response Program Specialist supports the planning and implementation of emergency relief efforts, including cash assistance, non-food kits, and winter support programs. The role contributes to effective program delivery by assisting with field operations, data collection, beneficiary registration, aid distribution and record keeping. The Humanitarian Emergency Response Program Specialist also interacts with communities, local service providers and internal DRB units to ensure coordination and referrals, while adhering to the organization's procedures and standards. style="font-style: normal; font-weight: 400">Programming and implementation:
- Support the planning and implementation of emergency relief activities (cash assistance, non-food kits, winter support), ensuring efficiency and adherence to work plans.
- Participate in needs assessment, beneficiary registration and field missions in collective centers and communities.
- Prepare and maintain documentation packages for payments and distributions to beneficiaries, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Participate in program activities in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions, including field operations, monitoring and implementation support. key informants and beneficiaries to strengthen the community-oriented approach of the DRB.
- Coordinate activities with other DRB units to facilitate referrals and information sharing.
- Support collaboration with local service providers and partners during field activities.
Data and documentation:
- Collect and analyzebeneficiary data to support evidence-based programs.
- Ensure proper archiving, secure storage and confidentiality of beneficiary data.
- Keep track of allocations, stock balances and inventory levels, reporting regularly to the Humanitarian Emergency Response Program Manager.
Field Logistics and Support:
- Develop and coordinate field movement plans in collaboration with the Emergency Humanitarian Response Program Manager.
- Assist in the safe handling and distribution of non-food kits, ensuring inventory accountability and assets.
- Maintain the organization of distributions and ensure accurate documentation of assistance provided.
About you:
To be successful in this position, we expect, that you will have at least 2 years of relevant practical experience in an NGO field. In addition, we also expect the following from you:
Required
- Higher education in a relevant field (e.g. political science, international development, economics) or equivalent professional experience;
- At least 2 years of experience working in humanitarian projects or NGOs;
- Proven experience in field implementation of activities (e.g. conducting distributions, needs assessments, beneficiary management);
- Ability to coordinate activities and communicate effectively with various stakeholders (communities, teams, local partners);
- Basic understanding of project cycle management (PCM) and processes reporting;
- Ability to work independently, organize tasks and set priorities in a dynamic environment;
- High attention to detail and ability to work with data and documentation;
- Fluency in the local language;
- Excellent MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Preferred
- Experience in various sectors (e.g. protection, housing or similar areas);
- Experience in supporting coordination or referral mechanisms between organizations;
- Awareness of humanitarian principles (AAP, protection, inclusion);
- A high level of English is desirable.

We offer:
- Contract: 6-month contract, including a 3-month trial period, with the possibility of extension depending on performance and availability financing.

Salary and terms of employment of the national staff of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine.
