The position is implemented within the framework of the UN Volunteers program, which promotes volunteering for peace and development.

About the role

Information management and graphic design specialist will strengthen the work of OCHA Ukraine in terms of:

  • creating high-quality information products (reports, situation reviews, infographics, etc.) for humanitarian response coordination;

  • data visualization and content management on key humanitarian platforms;

  • maintaining uniform standards of graphic design and branding.

The role combines information management and graphic design in a humanitarian context.

Main responsibilities

  • Support OCHA and UN partners in the preparation of information products that help coordinate the humanitarian response in Ukraine and the implementation of the Humanitarian Program Cycle (HPC), including support for the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund.

  • Develop graphic materials for:

    • reports,

    • one-pagers and snapshot reviews,

    • presentations,

    • individual infographics,

    • online products (including dashboards, visualizations).

  • Support strategic and operational decision-making through processing and analysis of humanitarian data for visualization (maps, charts, infographics).

  • Support management and visualization of content on the main platforms for humanitarian response (e.g. ReliefWeb Response, Humanitarian Action).

  • Maintain close working relationships with clusters, UN agencies and partners to ensure quality data exchange and transparency.

  • Interact with information focal points of other organizations to identify priority information needs and strengthen coordination.

  • Work with the OCHA IM team to implement design and branding standards for information products (including Power BI and other online products).

  • Maintain coordination product catalog: meeting schedule, contact lists, key documents.

  • Prepare materials and presentations about UN Volunteers, success stories and field experiences for UNV publications and web resources.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor within the mandate of the position.

Candidate Requirements

Education and experience:

  • Higher education (bachelor degree or equivalent) in the field of graphic design, information management, information systems or related areas.

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, content management, information management, data visualization, development of information products or similar areas.

  • Experience of working in a humanitarian and/or development context, with international organizations or the UN — preferred.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English languages (oral and written).

Professional skills:

  • High level of Adobe Creative Suite:

    • Illustrator,

    • InDesign,

    • Photoshop.

  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) — desirable.

  • Skills in creating infographics, data visualization and adapting complex information into understandable, visually appealing materials.

  • Ability to work with several tasks in parallel, under tight deadlines, with high attention to detail.

  • Teamwork, professionalism, flexibility, willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing humanitarian environment.

Conditions

  • Type of contract: National UN Volunteer Specialist (full-time).

  • Duration: 9 months with the possibility of extension (if there is funding, operational needs and a positive evaluation of the work).

  • Place of work: Kyiv, OCHA office (UN Premises).

lump sum - 400 USD at the start of the contract.
