GENERAL INFORMATION

BF "Right to Defense" (hereinafter - the Fund) is a sector leader in the protection of people who have suffered from war, veterans, refugees and stateless persons. We seek recovery and integration for those we help. Our team protects people's rights and influences laws and decisions in Ukraine and the world to become fairer. We are actively developing a network of partners for localized support of those who need it. The fund is 13 years old. Today, the team of BF "Right to Defense" has about 1,200 specialists. Geography: 22 regions of Ukraine, as well as a representative office in Poland. More than 3,300,000 people have received aid since the start of the full-scale invasion. Our work was recognized at the national level: in 2024, the Foundation won first place in the "Charity Ukraine" competition in the "All-Ukrainian Charity" category, entered the top 10 of the Forbes Ukraine "50 Best Charitable Organizations" rating, and took 9th place in the integrity rating of Ukrainian charitable foundations.

The project "Complex services for the protection of the civilian population affected by hostilities and improving the resilience skills of workers who come to help first" is aimed at protecting and supporting the rights of internally displaced persons, the population affected by hostilities, stateless persons, as well as veterans and their families at the national, local and individual levels. In 2026, the Fund, as part of the project, will monitor the protection of the rights of IDPs and provide free legal assistance to internally displaced persons, stateless persons, veterans and their families in the regions of Ukraine.

The geography of activity includes Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Odesa, Poltava and Kirovohrad regions. The territory of implementation may change depending on the security situation and the needs of the project.

Within the framework of the project, a social affairs specialist will work in the Kirovohrad region, where there is the greatest need for help to ensure quick access to life-necessary services for people who have suffered from the war and are unable to get to the aid centers on their own and will provide information on social issues, help with filing documents and solving social issues.  The specialist will provide a case management service: assessment of a person's needs, development of an individual plan of assistance and coordination in obtaining social support from various services and providing a holistic approach to protection issues. 400">DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identification of individuals and families in need of social support;
  • Provision of social assistance to affected persons: social services of counseling, information, physical support, representation of interests according to needs, as well as case management;
  • Assisting identified affected persons/beneficiaries in obtaining additional services (medical, social, psychological, legal, providing temporary shelter, etc.), in particular through referral, if necessary, to relevant general or specialized support services for affected persons and/or other entities;
  • Maintaining contact with local authorities and their institutions, as well as other humanitarian organizations;
  • Reporting in the Fund's internal database;
  • Having own car will be an advantage;
  • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Foundation Policies.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in social sciences, law, psychology or humanities will be an advantage; 
  • Understanding current legislation and methods of providing social services will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with different categories of the population;
  • Experience working with internally displaced persons will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of privacy principles and work with personal data;
  • Understanding humanitarian principles and gender approach;
  • Attention to details, ability to work in difficult conditions;
  • Strong communication skills, autonomy in work, proactivity and flexibility.
