Rescuer (evacuation flights with animals) in UAnimals

UAnimals is apublic organization and charitable foundation dedicated to rescuing animals from cruelty and the consequences of war. Projects include: organization of animal evacuations from combat zones, reconstruction of shelters, sterilization program, delivery of humanitarian aid, comprehensive assistance to shelters, educational projects, drafting of laws and much more.

Every month we evacuate hundreds of animals from the frontline territories of Ukraine. For this, we need to expand the team in order to save even more animals from war and inadequate living conditions.

What should be done:

• Participate in creating route sheets for evacuation flights;
• Check all initial data before each flight (relevance of requests at the time of departure, correctness of contact phone numbers, addresses, geolocations);
• Evaluate and analyze the operational situation in the front-line regions from which evacuation is carried out, constant monitoring of the situation, operational news from the front line;
• Prepare props for the evacuation flight (cages, carriers, hay, feed, water);
• Interact with animals during the flight (loading animals into the evacuation vehicle, feeding, watering and walking, condition check, transfer of animals to owners/to shelters);
• Take photos and videos of all animals during the flight (at the time of loading and in the process of transfer to owners/to shelters);
• Observe safety during departures (use of all necessary equipment: body armor, helmets);
• Promptly respond to crisis situations during evacuation flights, coordinate actions with team coordinator/coordinator, change routes if necessary;
• Interact with representatives of local authorities, partner organizations, humanitarian headquarters, military and other institutions;
• Prepare detailed reporting after each evacuation flight (control and submission of a list of animals, contacts/shelters/volunteers to whose care the evacuation teams transfer animals, complete photo/video reporting, as well as financial reporting after the end of each flight);
• Control the washing and disinfection of cars, cages and carriers (we visit the car wash after every evacuation flight)

What you need to know:

• Have a driver's license of category B. Additional categories will be an advantage. Driving experience of 2 years or more is a must.
• Confidence in working with Google services - documents, tables, etc.
• Experience in creating logistics routes.
• Possessing communication skills, being able to find a common language with people in stressful situations.
• Take photos and videos of animals and situations around during flights.

And will also be cool if you:

• Love animals;
• Ready to work in an area close to active hostilities;
• Ready for business trips from three to five days;
• Can take care of the car, its technical condition, rulesI can use it. If you know technical features and know how to fix minor breakdowns, it will be an advantage.
• Know Ukrainian roads;
• Empathize with people;
• Communicate transparently and honestly (both with the team and with external people);
• Show initiative;
• Attentive to details;
