DRB has existed in Ukraine since 2014. At the moment, DRB has more than 800 employees working on the territory of Ukraine to implement emergency response in the sectors of social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing restoration and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining), providing direct support to responsible persons and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.
DRB is currently looking for a Psychosocial Support Specialist for the program of the Consortium on Territorial Allocation of Resources (ABA Consortium), which is implemented in the Kherson region (place of work - m. Mykolaiv).
General purpose of the role
Under the direction of the program manager and with the technical support of a leading psychosocial support specialist, the Consortium's psychosocial support program specialist will ensure the quality and accountability of activities of partner organizations in accordance with the principles of social and legal protection.
The main attention will be paid to psychosocial support at the community level, as well as technical and operational support of partners in case management, safe redirection and integration of the principles of social and legal protection into other program directions. The position involves technical support, mentoring and capacity development of partner organizations to strengthen their ability to implement quality measures in the field of social and legal protection within the scope of the Consortium's activities.
Your main duties will be:
Technical and operational support
- Under the technical guidance of a leading specialist in psychosocial support, provide ongoing technical and operational support to partner public organizations that implement measures in the field of social and legal protection and psychosocial support.
- Help partner organizations align their activities with the standards of the DRB and the donor, in particular with the principles of confidentiality, security and the principle of "do no harm".
- Check the technical compliance of work plans, tools and reports of partner organizations, as well as their compliance with the principles of social and legal protection.
- Conduct joint field visits and regular monitoring to assess quality, results, and identify risksor potential directions for improvement in the activities of partners.
- Contribute to the integration of the principles of social and legal protection in the intersectoral measures of partners (for example, measures to restore housing, provide monetary/non-food assistance, assistance in the WASH sector).
Buildingthe potential of organizations
- Conduct assessment of the capabilities of partner public organizations in the field of socio-legal protection and psychosocial support.
- Develop and support the implementation of individual capacity development plans of organizations, as well as develop relevant training modules and materials.
- Conduct trainings, mentoring and coaching sessions on key topics of socio-legal protection, in particular such as psychosocial support, social and legal protection at the community level, case management and referral of clients to other organizations or services.
- Assist the lead specialist in psychosocial support in the development of training modules and monitoring the development of the capacity of partner organizations.
- Contribute to the exchange of experiences and mutual learning between the consortium partners.
- Document and disseminate lessons learned, best practices and case studies from partners to promote knowledge sharing within the consortium.
Coordination and external interaction
- Collaborate with the lead specialist in psychosocial support, the data monitoring and evaluation department and colleagues from other areas (housing recovery, cash and non-food assistance, etc.) to ensure consistency of approaches and quality of program activities.
- Participate in local coordination forums on issues of socio-legal protection and psychosocial support to share information about trends and best practices in the sector.
- Support updating the map of psychosocial support services available in the region and strengthen coordination between public organizations and service providers.
Reporting and documentation
- Participate in the preparation of technical reports, documenting partner progress, issues and support needs.
- Assist partner organizations in developing or adapting reporting tools that reflect the quality of program activities in the field of social and legal protection and psychosocial support.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of monitoring data and reports from partners.
Otherresponsibilities
- If necessary, support other activities of the consortium or DRB in the field of social and legal protection in agreement with the immediate supervisor.
About you
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have at least 2 years of experience in the humanitarian field, including experience directly implementing social-legal protection or psychosocial support measures. In addition, we also owe are looking for the following:
Required:
- Higher education in the field of psychology.
- Confirmed work experience in the field of psychosocial support at the community level, group facilitation and with mechanisms for redirecting vulnerable people to the necessary services.
- Knowledge of information standards management and confidentiality in the field of social and legal protection.
- High organizational and reporting skills; the ability to work with several tasks at the same time and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Fluent command of the Ukrainian language.
Desirable:
- Additional education or training in the field of psychosocial support, psychological counseling, social and legal protection or social work will be an advantage.
- Education or training in case management, psychological first aid or integration (mainstreaming) of the principles of social and legal protection.
- Experience in capacity development, mentoring or training for local organizations or partners - preferably in areas related to social and legal protection.
- Proficient command of the English language is desirable.
