Since the start of the war in eastern Ukraine in 2014, Malteser International has been working with three local partner organizations in the field of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). Since the full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, Malteser International has rapidly expanded its humanitarian operations to respond to the growing needs across the country, partnering with more than 8 local organizations to provide critical assistance to people affected by the crisis. Today, Malteser International's humanitarian response includes the distribution of food, hygiene kits, winter kits, housing assistance and MPCA in hard-to-reach areas of Eastern and Southern Ukraine to reduce challenges and risks to people's lives. The international network of the Order of Malta supports people affected by the war in Ukraine and will continue to do so as long as help is needed.
To implement its activities in Ukraine, Malteser International is looking for a Senior Program Coordinator - a national position that reports to the program manager, ensures timely and high-quality project management within the humanitarian response program MI in Ukraine in coordination with local partners.
The Senior Program Manager supports project management functions while scaling activities and establishing cooperation with new potential partners, conducts field visits and needs assessments, develops quality project proposals, provides technical support to partners to ensure quality and timely project implementation, and supports reporting requirements for MI, clusters, partners and institutional donors.
As a Program Specialist, you will ensure effective and timely implementation of projects within the humanitarian response program of MI in Ukraine in coordination with local partners. You will support the project management process while scaling activities and finding new potential partners, conduct field visits and needs assessments, participate in the preparation of quality project proposals, provide technical support to partners, and contribute to the fulfillment of reporting requirements for MI, clusters, partners and donors.

Contract duration: 1 year
Salary: according to qualifications and experience, from UAH 82,700 before tax
Social package: medical insurance, psychosocial support (PSS)
Vacation: 36 calendar days per year + internal additional benefits
Your duties:
Maintain project cycle management in cooperation with the Program Manager by supporting the implementation of multi-sectoral MI projects by partners in Ukraine in accordance with internal standards and donor requirements, tracking progress of projects and indicators, support of procurement processes and preparation of quality reporting for donors and management.
Coordinate the implementation of projects with internal support units (MEAL, Communications, Operations Department, Security Department), ensuring agreed work planning, as well as participate in coordination meetings of MI programs, relevant cluster meetings and working groups.
Contribute to the support and development of partners through establishing effective communication with partner organizations, ensuring timely preparation of reports for partners and donors, planning and conducting field monitoring visits, as well as identifying gaps and strengthening partner program teams through mentoring and capacity building activities.
Represent MI at the external level and maintain interaction by coordinating with relevant clusters, participating in meetings and events, building and maintaining partnerships with authorities authorities, donors and other stakeholders, as well as accompanying donor representatives and official delegations as needed.
Your profile:
Higher education in the field of social sciences/social work, child protection, human rights, law enforcement, law, personnel management or a related field; master's degree or certification in project cycle management (eg PDM Pro). an advantage.
At least 1-2 years of progressively increasing experience in project management, in particular 1-2 years in a similar position in international NGOs.Proven experience of working with partners using a participatory approach and coordination with public authorities, national and local organizations, NGOs and UN agencies.
Strong analytical skills and attentiveness attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, achieve results and adhere to high professional standards.
Fluency in written Ukrainian and a sufficient level of English (oral and written).
