PR and Communication Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

The Energy and Climate Sector of Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Ukraine comprises various projects implemented on behalf of the German government to support Ukraine on its way to transforming into an energy-efficient country. Partners of the projects are Ukrainian ministries on the national level, local communities on the municipal level, and companies in private sector. There are 15 projects in the Cluster portfolio. In their operations, all projects are supported by a Communications’ Unit to guarantee the proper communication of projects’ goals and results. To strengthen the Communication team ahead of the growing projects portfolio GIZ is looking for a qualified professional to fill the position of PR and Communication Specialist. The PR & Communications Specialist will work for two projects.
We are looking for a full-time PR & Communications Specialist with a firm grasp of political realities and sensitivity to create and implement a national communication strategy with the aim of strengthening visibility and understanding of the usefulness of green modernization and rebuilding of family houses. “Rebuild Green Ukraine” supports the Ukrainian government in the strategic further development of the Energy Efficiency Fund to achieve the climate targets and a green reconstruction. EEF-financed investments lead to lower energy costs and improved comfort for households. Owners benefit from an increase in the value of their properties. Furthermore, the PR & Communications Specialist supports the project Support for the Establishment of an Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) in Ukraine. ETS creates institutional and technical capacities for emission trading system (ETS) in Ukraine, which are aligned with international commitments, as well as to support launching an ETS with its pilot phase.
This position foresees several Ukraine-wide travels and a low number of business trips to third countries (e.g. Poland, Germany).

Full-time position with 40-hours working week. Place of assignment is Kyiv. Starting as soon as possible. The contract duration will be 12 months with the possibility of prolongation.
