DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Junior Project Specialist on social and legal protection for its activities in Barvinkovo.
General purpose of the role:
Under the direct supervision of the Social and Legal Protection Project Manager, the Junior Social and Legal Protection Project Specialist will support the provision of quality protection measures to vulnerable individuals and communities affected by the conflict in Barvinkovo. This role includes conducting needs assessments, developing action plans, implementing safe diversions, and providing financial or material assistance to reduce protection risks. This role will require working closely with other DRB departments and external partners to provide timely, effective and client-focused support while maintaining high standards of confidentiality, professionalism and commitment to humanitarian principles.
Responsibilities:
- Provide case management services to vulnerable populations, including assessing client needs, developing an action plan, sharing information and making referrals them to other service providers, as well as provide follow-up to the client.
- Provide monetary and non-monetary assistance to vulnerable population groups to reduce their social and legal protection risks.
- Provide targeted individual assistance (i.e. targeted monetary payments) to people directly or indirectly affected by accidents related to mines or explosive remnants of war, contributing to the improvement of their socio-economic situations.
- Execute and ensure safe storage of documentation related to case management activities, including referral forms and consent forms.
- Carry out service mapping to identify available services in the community. Establish and maintain engagement with relevant government and non-government service providers to ensure safe referral of beneficiaries.
- Implement programmatic activities related to protection monitoring activities, including conducting focus group discussions, household surveys and key informant interviews.
- Coordinate activities with other DRC units to ensure beneficiary referral and exchange information.
About you
To successfully perform the duties of this position, we expect you to have at least 1 year experience in the social, legal or humanitarian field. A strong interest in or experience working with conflict-affected populations and the ability to communicate effectively with people under stress. In addition, we also expect the following from you:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations, colleagues and stakeholders from various walks of life;
- High analytical and reporting skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Strong sense of personal integrity and understanding of privacy and ethics principles;
- Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, and Windows operating system;
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian language;
- Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, law or other related field fields.
Desirable:
- Experience in the social or humanitarian sphere;
- Awareness of working with communities, implementation of social support measures, conducting educational sessions and providing services to vulnerable categories of the population.
- Knowledge of the English language at a basic level.

Salary and working conditions will be in accordance with the terms of employment of the national staff of the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine.
