Junior Manual QA Engineer (Backend) in Ajax Systems

R&D is responsible for the development of devices at Ajax, which consists of four departments: System, Device, Automation and QA.

Security systems have increased requirements for reliability and stability of operation. That is why the QA Department at Ajax Systems accompanies the product both at the development stage and in the process of production and further development. They detect bugs in hardware, software, or system interactions. This is not just a team of "clickers", these are creative engineers. They test new devices in various extreme conditions: they simulate the movements of people and animals, reproduce complex weather conditions, temperature changes, arrange controlled fires and floods.

What is technically interesting about the vacancy?

Our cloud, hosted in AWS, constantly maintains at least 400 thousand simultaneous connections with client devices and applications, serves 20 thousand requests per second. Necessary knowledge and skills:

• technical background;
• understanding of client-server architecture; 
• knowledge of QA processes, technical test design, SDLC; 
• ability to write test documentation and bug reports; 
• basic knowledge of networks;
• knowledge of API and its testing methods;
• basic knowledge of SQL;
• basic knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, TestRail.

Will be a plus:

• year+ of work experience;
• experience of Backend testing;
• basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux OS;
• working with logs (partner: Kibana);
• experience working with Postman.

Tasks:

• work with low-level binary protocols;
• work with real and emulated devices;
• understanding of complex server architecture;
• analysis of the causes of a certain bug (root cause analysis);
• maintenance of test documentation; 
• analysis of technical documentation; 
• performance of various types of testing; 
• the ability to qualitatively describe a bug report and lead the life cycle of a bug.
