Junior Email Security Engineer in SH Consulting

We are a small but fast-growing company with over 400 clients across the US and Canada, delivering solutions in email security and deliverability. We help our clients stay protected from spoofing, phishing, BEC, MiTM downgrade attacks, and other types of threats, and we assist with mitigating security breaches.

We are looking for someone with an engineering background (at least a BS+ degree in an engineering or technical field) to join our team and grow into an expert. This role focuses on handling email server configurations and deploying security policies for our customers.

The position requires good English communication skills and at least a basic understanding of DNS zones, domains, and email systems.

We are not expecting to hire someone with deep expertise in this area. Much of what we do is relatively new, and there are only a few companies globally working in this space. However, we believe the right person can learn quickly and, within 3-5 months, gain enough knowledge to become highly skilled in this field.

If you have a DevOps background, it may be easier for you to transition into this role, as roughly 20% of our work overlaps with typical DevOps responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

1. DNS zone management and security policy deployment

2. Security analysis and monitoring

3. Report generation

4. Regular email communication with customers and partners

5. Structured and organized management of internal documentation

6. Setup of Google Workspace email accounts and fine-tuning of spam filters

You will be doing a lot of hands-on work with mail server configurations and written communication with clients and partners (email only - no calls). Because of this, strong English communication skills and a solid understanding of technical processes are required.

If you join the team, you will learn very quickly. You will work hard and autonomously, but you will gain deep exposure to the world of online threats. You will have the opportunity to learn how to mitigate security risks, build security policies and protocols, and configure spam filters and email security gateways.

You will have full independence, and no one will actively track your working hours or daily progress. However, the work must be properly managed and delivered. You will have strong leadership support and access to excellent resources, but you should expect to spend a significant amount of time learning independently. The working schedule is flexible and should fit what works best for you, but we expect a full-time commitment of around 8 hours per day, with no weekend work.
