We work in areas such as education, child protection, food security and social support, and we also carry out advocacy activities aimed at ensuring lasting changes in the lives of children.

Purpose of the position:

This position involves responsibility for supporting the effective implementation of SC Ukraine's data management system and new technology systems, ensuring that they are aligned with the mission, vision and values of Save the Children. This includes active participation in digital data collection, validation and reporting processes to maintain high standards of data quality and integrity. This position involves supporting the Information Management (IM) department in the implementation and improvement of MEAL-related tools such as Monday.com, CommCare and Kobo Toolbox, as well as developing the skills and knowledge of SC staff and implementing partners in information management and digital technologies to effectively use these systems. Promoting transparency, accuracy and continuous improvement, this position will contribute to the collection and presentation of information required for data-driven decision-making, training and program accountability.

The role also involves post-distribution monitoring (PDM) following funding activities such as CVA, FSL and C4P payments. This includes coordinating data collection, cleaning and analysis, and preparing comprehensive reports. Additionally, the position ensures that all relevant data is accessible and available in trackers and systems to support program activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Information Systems and Data Architecture

  • Facilitate data collection from SC field teams and partners using digital tools (eg CommCare, Monday.com, Kobo Toolbox, PRIME).
  • Ensure monthly accurate database reporting of activities, including CommCare and Kobo Toolbox.
  • Maintain and update program trackers and cumulative data tables using designated software platforms (eg, Monday.com, Kobo Toolbox), ensuring correct and timely data entry and display.
  • Provide support in regular data quality checks (DQCs) to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency and reliability of all program data collected through CommCare, KoboToolbox, and partner reports.
  • Ensure compliance with global and local SCI data protection policies (GDPR, Child Protection Policy, Information Management Policy).

Data Quality and Analysis

  • Clean and analyze data using Excel, Power Query, or other necessarytools.
  • Apply validation rules to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform regular data triangulation through regular spot checks (MoVs).
  • Correct identified discrepancies in coordination with field teams and partners.

Dashboards, visualization and reporting

  • Develop, automate and support Power BI dashboards (dashboards) for program and MEAL teams.
  • Create visualizations that support decision-making, including sectoral and territorial dashboards.
  • Create newsletters, maps, tables, infographics and presentations. 
  • Regularly conduct post-distribution monitoring (PDM) surveys in CVA projects to assess beneficiary satisfaction with the registration process, distribution, amount and use of cash assistance, etc.

Capacity development

  • Conduct refresher training for SC staff and partner organizations on data quality standards.
  • Provide training to partners with using CommCare for digital data collection and reporting.
  • Sharing best practices in digital data collection and reporting.

To be successful, you must have:

  • Higher education in sociology, pedagogy, statistics or any other relevant field.
  • At least 2 years experience in information management or MEAL non-governmental or international organizations.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Experience in developing dashboards in Power BI (or Tableau).
  • Ability to work with large data sets and ensure their quality.
  • As a member of the regional office team, demonstrate behavior consistent with Save the Children's mission, vision and values, and promote their widespread application by staff within the program.
  • Political and cultural sensitivity, patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Proactivity, adaptability and flexibility: the ability to work in complex and volatile environments.
  • Adherence to SC goals and principles: a good understanding of the organization's mandate and commitment to the principle of children's participation.
  • Solution-oriented: the ability to identify risks, challenges and problems and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and support.

Desired:

  • Previous experience with Save the Children and understanding of MEAL SC systems and tools.  Experience in data visualization and presentation. development
