Position goal:

The Information Management Consultant will be responsible for ensuring effective data management and visualization across all MEAL team activities. In this role, he will use tools such as Power BI to develop, maintain and improve reporting and data analysis processes, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided for decision making and program improvement. 

Key areas of responsibility:  

Data management and analysis:

  • Enter program data, consolidate and clear databases (including various trackers) to support MEAL and other software teams. 

  • Provide technical assistance in maintaining, reviewing and developing an effective information management system in coordination with program teams and the MEAL team .  

  • Supporting survey data collection, monitoring tools and processes (e.g. post-distribution monitoring, focus discussions groups, interviews and other quantitative and qualitative tools).  

  • Check the data received from the fields, review and prepare project IPTTs every month. 

  • Ensure that information from the fields is complete and submitted on time. 

  • Ensuring data integrity and security by implementing data management best practices.

  • Site visits and periodic review of service delivery logs to ensure data flow and compliance of all data attendance records or toolsin local protocols and organization system.  

  • Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards to support real-time decision making and improve data transparency . 

  • Automate reporting processes to simplify access to data for key stakeholders. 

  • Create reports and visualizations to track project performance and performance metrics. 

  • Based on the collected data, identify needs and gaps in the relevant sector

  • Provide in-depth analysis and interpretation of data trends to support program evaluation and analysis. 

Training and capacity building:

  • Train staff in database usage and data entry best practices. 

  • Supporting MEAL, program teams and partners in understanding and using data to improve project outcomes. 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor. 

Qualifications:

  • Higher education in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, data analysis, computer science, psychology, political science, economics, international development or related disciplines.  

  • Preferably English - at least level B1. 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS< /p>

Important

  • At least 2 years of experience in information management (including database development and management), preferably with 1 year of experience working with IM in international non-governmental organizations.  

  • Strong skills in Excel and other data management software. 

  • Knowledge and database management experience

  • Strong Power BI skills. 

  • Excellent planning, coordination and reporting skills and the ability to manage a significant workload consisting of complex, various tasks and responsibilities. 

  • Strong communication skills, influenceand interpersonal communication in English, with experience working in multicultural, diverse locations, value-driven teams. 

  • Ability and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes dangerous work circumstances. 

  • Good reporting and analytical skills. 

Preferred:

  • Prerequisites for implementing effective M&E systems and/or accountability mechanisms in emergency response

  • Use and experience of digital data collection, such as KOBO.

ROLE PURPOSE:< /em>

The Information Management Officer will be responsible for ensuring effective data management and visualizationon across all MEAL activities. This role will leverage tools such as Power BI to develop, maintain, and improve reporting and data analysis processes, ensuring timely and accurate insights to inform decision-making and program improvement.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 Data Management and Analysis:

  • Enter programme data, consolidate and clean databases (including different trackers) to support MEAL and program teams.
  • Provide technical input in maintaining, reviewing and developing an effective information management system in coordination with the program teams and the MEAL team.
  •  Support in data collection of surveys, monitoring tools and processes (for example, post distribution monitoring, Focus Group Discussions, interviews and other quantitative and qualitative tools).
  • Validate data from the field, review and prepare project IPTTs on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that the information from the field is complete and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing best practices in data management.
  • Support MEAL officer/ assistant monitoring data quality (e.g. validity, reliability, precision) through data audits and checks
  • Field Monitoring Visits and conduct periodic service records register review to ensure data flow and all data of attendance sheets or tools on the ground are in line with the organization protocols and system. 

Reporting and Visualization:

  •  Design, create, and maintain Power BI dashboards to support real-time decision-making and improve data transparency.
  •  Automate reporting processes to streamline data access for key stakeholders. Generate reports and visualizations to track project indicators and performance metrics.
  •  Based on the data collected, conduct needs and gap identification for the relevant sector
  •  Provide in-depth analysis and interpretation of data trends to support program evaluations and assessments. 

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Support MEAL, program teams and partners in understanding and using data to improve project outcomes.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by line manager

QUALIFICATION:

  •  University degree in a relevant field such as statistics, math, data analysis, computer science, psychology, political science, economics, international development, or a related discipline. 
  • English - at least B1

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • At least 2 years of experience in Information Managements (including, database design and management) preferably with 1 year IM related experiences in INGOs.
  •  Strong skills in Excel and other data management software
  •  Experience in knowledge and database management
  •  Strong skills in Power BI.
  •  Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills in English, with experience working in multicultural, multi-location, values driven teams
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances
  • Good reporting and analytical skills

Desirable:

  •  Background of implementing effective M&E systems and/or accountability mechanisms in emergency responses 
  • Use and experience in digital data collection such as KOBO
