QUALIFIED TRANSLATOR

Doctors without borders/ Medecins Sans Frontieres ( 400">MSF) is an internationalhumanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries of the world to the population in a difficult situation, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religious or political beliefs.

Employee's main activity:

Performing professional translation activities and delegated duties in accordance with the specialization and instructions of the manager, as well as in accordance with the protocols, standards and procedures of MSF, in order to ensure the proper representation and translation of the activities and core values of MSF.

Main duties:

• Performance of professional written and oral interpretation according to the manager's specialization (for example, doctor, nurse, position in the field of intensive therapy, pharmaceuticals, psychological health, laboratory activities, logistics, operational activities, personnel management), ensuring medical confidentiality, neutrality and respect for beneficiaries, employees, representatives of authorities authorities, military formations and MSF personnel.
• Execution of administrative tasks at the request of the manager (organization of meetings, keeping of protocols, assistance in organization of supervision of patients). Providing the necessary feedback to the manager based on the results of meetings and negotiations. Assistance in writing reports (as required by MSF and government authorities), ensuring minutes are kept of all meetings and proper storage of translated documents. 
• Depending on the specialization of the manager and the needs of the relevant department - establishment and maintenance of professional contacts with relevant authorities, as well as the transfer of information from MSF to colleagues from the Ministry of Health and authorities (in particular, information related to patient care).
• Keri introductionaware of cultural nuances when communicating with representatives of the Ministry of Health and partners to ensure good working relations. Training the supervisor in effective methods of culturally sensitive communication and informing the international staff about local customs, traditions, etc., which will contribute to better communication and understanding of the situation.
• Immediately informing the supervisor of any problems that may be related to individual behavior (counterproductive and/or culturally insensitive) and declaring any "conflict of interest" while performing their professional duties responsibilities (e.g. personal interest).
• Adherence to MSF's core principles, values, quality standards and Code of Conduct. Respect MSF identification materials and do not misuse them and use them only as intended.
• Observe safety rules and regulations, DO NOT put yourself or others at risk. To promote and maintain the quality standards of MSF.

Features of the MSF unit:

• Owning the medical terminology necessary for high-quality translation.
• If necessary, providing assistance with translation from Ukrainian to English and from English to Ukrainian for international medical staff.
• If necessary, provide translation support to managers from among the team's international staff.
• Willingness to work (feel comfortable) in medical facilities where military personnel or ex-military personnel may be present, with strict adherence to confidentiality on an ongoing basis.
• Place of work: Cherkasy.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Higher education (medical education will be an advantage)
• translation

Experience:

• Previous work experience of at least two years is mandatory. Preferably in MSF or other NGOs.
• Experience in translation and interpretation, as well as administrative tasks.
