We are currently increasing our efforts in Ukraine and neighboring countries to provide assistance to people forced to leave their homes due to war.

We are looking for a Training Specialistin the NRC Northern Regional Office in Chernihiv.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Adherence to NRC policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Strict adherence to the NRC Code of Conduct.
  • Implementation of the educational project according to the action plan.
  • Ensuring that the projects target the beneficiaries most in need of protection, and finding and evaluating new and better ways of providing assistance.
  • Liaising and collaborating with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in accordance with the advocacy strategy.
  • Contribute to the development, adjustment or review of programs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities by team members and liaise with relevant colleagues for problem solving.
  • Implementation of educational activities under the direction of the educational project coordinator.
  • Development and maintenance of effective archiving systems, both electronic and paper.
  • Supervision of educational needs assessment at school/youth level in NRC target areas.
  • Develop weekly and monthly work plans in accordance with program plans.
  • Contribute to school restoration processes, including working closely with the Shelter technical team (selection of schools, conducting tenders, monitoring visits during the renovation process and documentation of each phase) in accordance with NRC standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the school assistance program (selection schools, readyvka BoQ together with school management/local education authorities, preparation of document package) according to NRC standard operating procedures.
  • Facilitate BLP trainings for school teachers, school psychologists, implementing partners. 
  • Collect and complete data before and after trainings (registration forms, BLP, SLEC, FGD certificates).
  • Provide support to the activities of NRC implementing partners, including facilitating training sessions, in accordance with NRC quality standards.
  • Support the development and contextualization of training of BLP packages.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring, tracking and reporting on educational projects.
  • Control spending and purchase requests as directed by PM/PC and ensure proper execution by logistics and field teams.
  • Record regular field trips for support and monitoring educational and training activities.
  • Supervise the purchase and distribution of educational materials and provide formal recommendations regarding the needs of schools.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with teachers, school principals and representatives of the Ministry of Education.
  • Perform any other duties related to the position as at the request of the immediate supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Experience in humanitarian/rehabilitation
  • Previous experience in complex and unstable conditions; ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in field of expertise (education, social services including psychosocial support/psychology or other relevant fields)
  • Documented technical competencies related to position responsibilities.
  • Technical knowledge in the humanitarian field is an advantage.
  • Experience in the development of psychosocial support programs in the field of education.
  • Experience in conducting training for adults (experience in training teachers/trainers will be an advantage) or similar experience.
  • Knowledge of the basics of child protection and/or psychosocial support.
  • Experience of working with young people in the field of leisure and/or professional training.
  • Knowledge of the education system in Ukraine.
  • Practical knowledge of the English language in written and oral form.
  • Fluent command of the Ukrainian language. Knowledge of the Russian language will be an advantage.
