We are currently looking for a Production Economist (Operational Controlling) in the Finance Director Service.  

Purpose of the position
Ensure high-quality calculation and financial evaluation of new products and R&D projects (TEO - technical and economic justification), cost calculation for new products, support decision-making regarding investments, their payback and impact on the company's profitability, as well as develop operational and investment controlling in production.

Main duties include:

1. Calculation of the feasibility study of new products and R&D projects

  • Calculation of the complete SEO (P&L) project based on input data from project managers;
  • Evaluate the payback of projects by calculating PP, NPV,DCF,ROI + scenarios;
  • Validation of marketing references, commercial costs, development and research costs (R&D), CAPEX, calculation of direct COGS based on norms and technical standards. processes.

2. Communication and support of projects

  • Constant interaction with R&D project managers and other stakeholders;
  • Conducting meetings for stakeholders regarding the results of feasibility studies and our financial recommendations;
  • Preparation of final calculations for submitting projects to GPMB (Global Project Management Board).
  • Update of investment data for each project based on the results of feasibility studies in the "Horizon" file/model.

3. Post-audit analysis of the effectiveness of investments (post-audit)

  • Conducting a retrospective Plan-fact analysis of the feasibility study / P&L of previously launched projects;
  • Participation in the project on the analysis of the effectiveness of investments in R&D

4. Cost of new products or other forms and dosages

  • Calculation of production cost of new products on the basis of standards, recipes and technical processes (for different scenarios / sites).
  • Preparation of additional calculations and ad-hoc calculations within the functionality of operational controlling.

5. Automation and development of analytics

  • Participation in the automation of TEO, costing and analytics calculation processes (tabular models, templates, Power Query).
  • If possible, participation in the construction of solutions in BI-systems (Qlik Sense / View, Power BI, etc.) for TEO, investment control and post-analysis projects.

Candidate requirements

  • Higher education (finance, economics and entrepreneurship, accounting and auditing or related areas).
  • 1+ years of experience in the areas of: financial analysis / investment analysis / controlling / FP&A (preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical company).
  • Experience in financial modeling: P&L, cash-flow, NPV/IRR/ROI.
  • A confident user of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, preferably Power Query / Power Pivot); experience with BI-tools (Qlik Sense) will be a plus.
  • Understanding the principles of cost of production, CAPEX/OPEX, the basics of management accounting.
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, the ability to ask questions of data and "challenge" assumptions.
  • Developed communication and presentation skills skills, willingness to hold meetings with different functions (R&D, production, marketing, finance, top management).
  • Knowledge of English at a level sufficient to work with internal documentation and presentations (will be an advantage).

Work schedule: Mon-Fri 08:00-17:00, Fri 08:00-16:00 (and in the summer season until 15:00)
