The "Voices of Children" charity fund is a Ukrainian foundation that grew out of a volunteer initiative in 2015 in Eastern Ukraine. Our mission is to inspire and support children, to create conditions for children's voices to be heard, to support their resilience in the face of war. The Foundation implements its mission and aims to become an effective, sustainable and recognizable institution in the field of child support.
In August, the "Voices of Children" foundation, in partnership with the international organization Plan International, started work as part of the "Relief to Protect (R2P)" project. Project to improve the protection and MHPSS mechanisms for conflict-affected children, adolescents, and their families in Ukraine" ("Project to improve the protection and MHPSS mechanisms for conflict-affected children, adolescents, and their families in Ukraine"), which is financed by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs (GFFO). The project is implemented in the communities of Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Kharkiv regions
Duties
- Participate in the preparation, development and updating of the analysis of the situation with children and families in the war-affected regions of Ukraine to ensure the availability of relevant and comprehensive data on children's well-being to establish project priorities, strategies, development and implementation of plans. Updating development trends to improve project management, efficiency and implementation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to discuss strategies and methodologies, as well as to define priorities and competencies to ensure the achievement of specific and sustainable results.
- Provide technical and operational support at all stages of project processes to ensure integration and coherence with other project activities in order to achieve planned activities results.
- Plan and collaborate with colleagues and external partners to establish benchmarks, performance indicators, other indicators and measurements as part of project implementation.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, project reviews with local authorities and other partners to assess progress and identify necessary actions and interventions to achieve results.
- Participate in the preparation, organization and delivery of educational trainings and sessions on protection of children's rights in the project implementation regions.
- Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports to identify gaps, strengths and/or weaknesses in project management. Use acquired knowledge for development, planning and timely intervention to achieve child protection project objectives.
- Prepare regular project implementation reports for management, donors and partners to inform them of project progress.
- Participate in design and implementationmechanisms, procedures, policies on child rights protection, apply and understand child welfare strategies, processes, best practices and approaches to support project management, implementation and achievement of project results.
- Participate in child rights protection project meetings, including project development, to provide technical and operational information, advice and support related to the project in the war-affected regions of Ukraine (Zaporizka, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv region).
- Prepare briefs, reports and materials based on the results of project implementation.
- Build and maintain effective close working partnerships with relevant partners at the regional and local levels, OTG, social (including child protection), education and health care institutions through active networking, advocacy and effective communication - for capacity building, exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as strengthening cooperation to achieve sustainable and broad results in the war-affected regions of Ukraine.
- Participate and/or present the project in relevant discussions and planning of child protection issues in the conflict-affected regions of Ukraine. To ensure comprehensive consideration of the organizational position, interests and priorities in the process of humanitarian aid, reconstruction and development in the war-affected regions of Ukraine.
Requirements
- Higher education in one of the following fields: social sciences, human rights, sociology, psychology, international development or other related disciplines.
- Professional experience in social development planning and management in the field of child protection and/or humanitarian projects and/or other related areas at the regional/national level.
Will a plus
- Experience working specifically on the protection of children in humanitarian activities.
- Experience working in war-affected regions of Ukraine is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in protection or related fields, development of programs/projects and management of international projects is an advantage.
