MEDICAL COORDINATOR SUPPORT

Employee's main activity:

Support the Medical Coordinator by performing delegated tasks and responsibilities, including administrative tasks related to work coordination, ensuring good relations with local and national authorities and proper program management in projects, in accordance with MSF protocols, (para)medical standards, hygiene rules and standard precautions in order to ensure the provision of quality medical care to patients and their communities, as well as improving the health of target population groups.

Main duties:

  • Monitoring, supervising and evaluating the implementation of medical measures within the project, visiting projects, respectively to the established schedule and participation in determining the needs for human resources, materials and equipment. Assist in the implementation of MSF protocols, (para)medical standards, hygiene rules and universal precautions during service delivery. 
  • Help in gathering information about national health policy (meetings, reports, articles, etc.), collection and participation in the analysis of epidemiological data (meetings, reports, articles, etc.) received within the framework of projects. 
  • In cooperation with the medical officer of the health care institution, providing medical support for patients (treatment, rehabilitation) and in cooperation with supervisors, overseeing all medical expenses related to the patient. Organization of administrative andmedical information (reports, ongoing treatment), discharge of patients and their return home.
  • Support and supervision of project teams and participate in the management of the medical team in coordination (recruiting, training, monitoring their work, planning vacations, evaluation, etc.). Participating in briefings and debriefings of (para)medical team members and facilitating communication and active participation in project development.
  • Application of employee health policy and participation in the evaluation of hospital structures that can serve as reference structures for national and international staff. Participating in medical monitoring of MSF personnel and, in cooperation with the immediate supervisor, controlling all medical expenses related to various consultations and hospitalizations.
  • Participating in the pharmaceutical management of the mission, consulting and managing the logistics team in the management of drug stocks. Organization of the launch, inventory and management of an operational medical library according to the classification plan.
  • Participation in the collection and management of data from projects, as well as the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and the organization of archiving of data and medical reports in the project.
  • Performance of other duties at the request of the medical coordinator (unscheduled reinforcement of the field team, participation in evaluations, etc.).

Specialties of the MSF unit:

  • Ensure proper implementation of health policy for national and international mobile personnel in the Mission
  • Represent the medical department in the annual tender for company selection and health insurance program
  • As coordinator of staff health matters, review and approve sick leaves for Coordination staff and provide support to staff health coordinators in projects
  • Review medical cases not covered by insurance and assess eligibility for coverage within the corporate limit according to the Staff Health Policy, and submit these cases for discussion and approval to the medical coordinator
  • Conduct sessions for project teams and briefings on insurance policy updates, insurance agreement and access to services
  • Organize annual preventive medical examinations of drivers
  • Provide activities for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle within the framework of all projects, including awareness of preventive examinations, vaccinations and routine medical examinations
  • Act as the main contact person for medical staff (consultations regarding specialists, identification of medical facilities, recommendations)
  • Provide support to national staff on long-term business trips (vaccinations, disease prevention)
  • Conduct health care briefings for international mobile staff during the first week of their stay in Ukraine and organize necessary vaccinations for them as needed
  • Provide support to the medical coordinator in solving medical issues of international mobile personnel (consultations, search for doctors and medical facilities, escort to medical facilities if necessary, translation support, translation of medical documents)
  • Provide support to the medical coordinator in cases requiring medical evacuation
  • Monitor the epidemiological situation in the country and inform projects about potential risks and preventive measures activities
  • Provide support to the data analysis and processing manager in their project collection and management, as well as organizing archiving
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports, as well as other special reports upon request
  • Conduct visits to project sites to monitor staff health and data management
  • Follow guidelines and MSF protocols
  • Provide support in filling staffing gaps in key medical positions in the projects
  • Review and prepare analysis of prescribed drugs within MSF activities
  • Represent MSF OCB, communicate with stakeholders and participate in external meetings related to project activities and, as requested by the medical coordinator, maintain and distribute meeting minutes
  • Participate to evaluate hospitals for the purpose of implementing multidisciplinary rehabilitation and/or developing partnerships with other stakeholders 700">Education:

    • Doctor's degree or its equivalent in the health care field;

    Experience:

    • Education or experience in the field of general medicine and/or public health;
    • Experience in emergency situations;
    • Experience of at least 2 years;

    Proficiency in languages:

    • Proficiency in languages -Proficiency in in English
