We help the population in all government-controlled territories: we evacuate and relocate, repair shelters and centers for displaced persons, document crimes, implement educational programs, we transfer charitable assistance, carry out monitoring visits, advocate for changes, provide legal and psychological consultations. There are regional teams of psychosocial and legal support in Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Dnipro and Mykolaiv.

We are looking for an advocacy specialist:

  • offline, Kyiv;
  • remuneration is discussed during the interview.

Tasks:

1. Analysis of problems and formation of advocacy positions

  • analysis of information and cases received from field lawyers and regional teams;
  • identification of systemic problems in law enforcement, access to services and implementation of state policy;
  • generalization of practice and formation of analytical materials;
  • preparation analytical notes, policy briefs and recommendations regarding changes in legislation and regulatory acts; monitoring of legislative initiatives and state policies in the field of protection of the rights of people affected by war. 2. Advocacy activities

    • development and implementation of advocacy strategies and campaigns;
    • formation of positions of the organization regarding current policies and legislative initiatives;
    • preparation of proposals for improvement of regulations and state programs;
    • preparation of position documents, appeals, recommendations and other advocacy materials.

    3. Public representation

    • representation of the position of the organization in interaction with state and local self-government bodies;
    • participation in working groups, public consultations, expert discussions;
    • participation in round tables, conferences and other public events;
    • preparation of expert comments and positional materials for public discussion.

    4. Interaction with organization teams

    • close cooperation with the human rights team;
    • collection and systematization of information from the regions for the formation of advocacy initiatives;
    • coordination of internal information exchange on law enforcement issues;
    • participation in the preparation of analytical and program reports.

    5. Working with cases of field lawyers and identifying system problems

    • establishment of systematic collection of information from field lawyers on law enforcement issues;
    • analysis of practical cases that arise during the provision of legal aid;
    • identification of recurring barriers in access to rights, public services and administrative procedures;
    • formation of generalizations and analytics based on fieldwork practices;
    • using field cases as an evidence base for advocacy initiatives.

    6. Work with coalitions, expert networks and advocacy platforms

    • participation in the activities of national and regional coalitions, working groups and expert platforms;
    • representing the position of the organization in cross-sectoral initiatives and coordination mechanisms;
    • establishing cooperation with human rights organizations, analytical centers and the expert environment;
    • participation in the preparation of joint advocacy statements, recommendations and positional documents;
    • coordination of advocacy initiatives in partnership with other organizations.

    We expect:

    • higher education (law, political science, public administration, international relations or related fields);
    • experience in the field of advocacy, human rights or public policy 2+ years;
    • understanding of processes of formation of state policy and legislation;
    • experience in preparing analytical materials and policy documents;
    • skills of interaction with state bodies authorities;
    • experience in public speaking and presenting the positions of the organization;
    • strong analytical and communication skills;
    • knowledge of the English language at the Intermediate level and above.
