Emily Lederkramer, SHRM-CP Emily Lederkramer, SHRM-CP Human Resources Manager at Epstein… Summary:Reporting to Human Resource Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to optimize our workforce, enhance employee engagement and drive organizational performance. This position requires a well-rounded understanding of human resources principles and employee lifecycle, as they will be involved in onboarding and orientation, employee relations, training and development, compensation, and other HR activities. The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information. Responsibilities:HR Administration:Work closely with Human Resources Manager and assist in conducting all cyclical employee lifecycle processes such as the annual compensation and bonus review process, year-end evaluation process, mandatory training, etc.Prepare and distribute HR-related documents, such as employment offer letters, performance evaluations, and disciplinary notices.Onboarding & Orientation:Plan and facilitate new hire orientation sessions to introduce new employees to the Firm mission, values, and key stakeholders.Monitor the progress of new hires during the onboarding period and follow up regularly to address any questions, concerns, or challenges they may encounter.Contribute to the design of onboarding materials, including welcome kits, handbooks, and training modules, to provide new hires with essential information about Firm policies, procedures, and culture.Employee Relations:Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and management regarding employee relations matters, including conflicts, complaints, and disciplinary issues.Assist with conducting investigations into employee complaints or allegations of misconduct, ensuring fair and impartial resolution.Collaborate with management to address performance issues and develop performance improvement plans for employees as needed.Schedule and conduct exit interviews with departing employees in a timely manner, either in person or through electronic surveys.Analyze exit interview data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement within the organization.Training and Development:Coordinate the logistics of training programs delivered by third-party vendors, including scheduling sessions, arranging facilities, and managing participant registrations.Collaborate with managers and employees to develop individualized development plans based on performance reviews, career aspirations, and organizational goals.Compliance and Policy Implementation:Stay informed about employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.Assist in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and initiatives to promote fairness and consistency across the organization.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Maintains and update documents on the department’s Knowledge Center located on the Firm’s intranet.Project Management: Lead or participate in HR initiatives, programs, and projects, in collaboration with HR leadership and stakeholders.Coordinate project activities, meetings, and resources to ensure timely execution and delivery of project objectives.Other Duties and Projects - Under direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Human Resources Manager, complete, support or lead HR related tasks or projects which may be related to any functional area of HR.Required Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.Five (5) to Seven (7) years of human resource management experience preferred.SHRM-CP a plus.Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Epstein Becker Green is an Equal Opportunity Employer.While the job posting is for our Washington D.C. office, we are open to receiving candidates located in New York or New Jersey as well.The information presented is intended to describe the general nature and level of work required of an employee holding this position.
