Writing and Journalism Intern in Ukraine in Making Cents International

Making Cents International is seeking a Writing and Journalism Intern to work on the USAID-funded activity. UNITY fosters vested ownership among young people in the country’s democratic, European future by mobilizing youth leadership of a values-based conception of Ukrainian identity grounded in innovation, engagement, and pluralism. The activity is simultaneously addressing the key domains identified in : building youth assets, fostering resilience, offering age-appropriate experiences for youth contribution, and strengthening the enabling environment, while intentionally and safely promoting dialogue and belonging around this pluralistic identity and incentivizing participation and leadership by historically marginalized groups.ResponsibilitiesThe Writing and Journalism Intern’s tasks will include:Investigating, researching, and fact-checking information about UNITY’s programming to uncover interesting stories about UNITY participants and their program successes Writing and editing success stories about UNITY programming in English and UkrainianProofreading other printed materialsBrainstorming and suggesting ideas for highlighting UNITY success storiesOther tasks as assignedRequirementsAt least 18 years oldCurrent resident of UkraineExcellent writing skills in Ukrainian and EnglishAbility to organize and prioritize workAbility to work independentlyStrong attention to detailStrong interpersonal skillsOur ideal candidate is recently graduated or actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in law, finance, accounting, or a similar field.Working ConditionsPart-time position which requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week for 12 weeks.Making Cents International is a certified B Corporation, founded on the principles of social entrepreneurship.
