About the job
The ICRC Weapon Contamination (WeC) Unit seeks a highly capable WeC Field Officer to join our team in Dnipro. This role will mainly be responsible for implementing, supporting, and monitoring ICRC WEC activities. The WEC Field Officer will contribute directly to ensuring staff safety and the continuation of critical operations, helping vulnerable people, and supporting National Societies in situations where conventional or non-conventional weapon contamination poses a hazard.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist the WeC Field Manager in implementing and following up WeC activities.
- Determine the needs of the affected civilian population and effectively respond to the weapon contamination threat
- Conduct assessments on weapon contamination threats and develop/implement relevant mine action activities (e.g., risk reduction activities) to prevent incidents among the civilian population.
- Provide support in organizing and implementing specific WeC training, including explosive ordnance recognition and clearance skills, to increase the capacity of relevant national mine action actors
- Contribute to the organization of online and face-to-face weapon contamination safety briefings for the ICRC and International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement employees, including tracking and reporting on WeC staff safety briefings and drills
- Contributes to building the capacity of the national authorities and the URCS

About you
To be successful as WeC Field Officer in the WEC Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine.
- At least three years of overall professional experience.
- Two years' work experience in URCS/mine action/humanitarian agency or a similar field.
- An understanding of WEC-related subject areas.
- Knowledge of the ICRC/humanitarian work is an asset.
- Professional fluency (written and spoken) in English, Ukrainian, and Russian.
- Excellent command of digital learning tools.
- Computer literate, including sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting information for decision-making purposes.
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment.
