About the jobThe ICRC WEC Department is recruiting a Weapon Contamination (WEC) Field Managerbased in its Dniprooffice. In close cooperation with the team members and line managers, the WEC Field Manager will mainly be responsible for Weapon Contamination (WeC) programme at national level, in coordination with the delegation’s Management and the WeC Regional Adviser covering her/his area of responsibility. S/he contributes directly to staff safety, continuation of critical operations, support to the vulnerable and support to National Societies in situations where conventional or non-conventional weapon contamination poses a hazard. S/he promotes an integrated approach to addressing the impact of weapon contamination. Start date: May 2024Your Tasks and ResponsibilitiesManage the project input for the Planning for Results (PfR) process, ensuring WeC activities are fully integrated into, facilitate and complement other aspects of ICRC assistance and protection programming. Ensure the necessary resources are mobilised and availed for the implementation of the plan of actionManage all aspects of the WeC operation in question, ensuring internal standard operating procedures (SOP) and guidelines are implemented to the required standards, that operations implemented are appropriate, adapted and in line with both the Preventive Mine Action Framework and International Mine Action StandardsMonitor and evaluate the work of external partners supporting the weapon contamination operations, report to the Regional Adviser and propose improvements to the way WeC activities are integrated and implemented in the delegation and beyondEnsure that lessons learned in operational activities are integrated into the development of related tools, methodologies, and proceduresProactively liaise with Governmental bodies, specialist agencies, the UN, international organisations, educational centres (i.e. Universities), NGOs, and private sector on issues related to policy, research & development, coordination and good practice on weapon contamination issuesProvide training, mentoring, orientation, and support to national Mine Action structures and/or other relevant actors, such as the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement components active in the contextRepresent the ICRC in Mine Action and other relevant fora.
