Wash Coordinator in Koordinaciyniy gumanitarniy centr, BO

Purpose:Filling the vacant position of Wash Coordinator to oversee the provision of the affected population with access to safe water, adequate sanitation and the promotion of hygienic practices to reduce the risks of infectious disease outbreaks and improving the health of communities.

Requirements:

• Higher technical education (hydraulic engineering, water supply and drainage, civil engineering, ecology) or public health with a strong technical background;
• From 1 year of experience in the implementation of WASH projects in the humanitarian sector;
• Confident PC user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, office 365, Google Drive);
• Proficiency in the Ukrainian language;
• Proficiency in English at the B1+ level;
• Awareness of humanitarian principles and rights standards of a person;
• Organizational and communication skills;
• Ability to resolve conflict situations;
• Ability to work in multitasking mode;
• Self-organization and discipline;
• Readiness for business trips.

Responsibilities:

• Management of the daily activities of Wash Distributors to ensure smooth and timely delivery of hygiene kits;
• Control of compliance with departure schedules and the achievement of project targets;
• Organization and conduct of technical needs assessment (WASH assessments) in target communities, places of compact residence of IDPs, frontline or affected areas;
• Development of technical instructions, tools and resources to support high-quality project implementation;
• Assistance of the monitoring department in conducting surveys (Post-Distribution Monitoring);
• Together with the team, development and implementation of a hygiene promotion program (information, training, distribution of hygienic kits);
• Collaboration with partner consortia to ensure deduplication of efforts and harmonization of aid delivery across regions;
• Preparation of weekly and monthly reports for PM on the number of households reached;
• Preparation of technical reports, progress reports, for program manager, donors and coordination clusters;
• Representation of the organization at WASH Cluster (coordination meetings at the regional level), coordination of actions with local authorities (water canals, emergency services, military administrations), avoidance of duplication of efforts.
