Assistant The Department of WASH will support the activities of the team to ensure the proper implementation of programs on water supply, sanitation, sanitation and hygiene (hereafter WASH). The assistant will be based in Dnipro and directly participate in field operations and ensure effective execution and timely completion of activities with maximum impact for beneficiaries.

Responsibilities:

1. Project planning

  • Participate in planning and conducting activities related to communication, coordination and implementation of the project in the designated areas. Provide support at meetings with third-party participants in the project implementation process;
  • Together with the Senior WASH Engineer, regularly update work plans, work results and other documents relevant to effective project management.

2. Project implementation control

  • Organize meetings and participate in trainings with various stakeholders. 
  • Support the technical staff of the WASH Department in the implementation of projects in accordance with ACTED standards and procedures.
  • Support the technical staff of the WASH Department in the preparation of specifications, BoQ and tender documents.
  • 3. Administration and operational management of project implementation

    Logistics:

    • Together with the WASH Senior Engineer, contribute to the development of procurement plans.
    • Ensure proper management and use of project assets and stocks.

    4. External Relations

    • Together with the Senior WASH Engineer, facilitate communications and liaison to proactively consult and engage beneficiaries, stakeholders, etc. at all stages of project design and implementation.
    • Together with the Senior WASH Engineer, build good relations with key actors of humanitarian activities - local and international, including state bodies and non-state actors, by regularly attending technical meetings and bilateral meetings.

    5. Reporting

    • Assist the WASH Senior Engineer in the preparation of periodic and final reports.

    • Provide regular and timely progress updates to the WASH Senior Engineer and other team members.

    • Contribute to the development of (internal and external) project progress reports, ensuring quality andaccuracy of the technical information provided

    Experience and skills

    • 2 years of experience in the humanitarian sphere and/or public organizations;
    • Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), programs for working with layouts and design, PDF documents (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat);
    • Ability to work independently and in a team ;
    • Skills of stress resistance and multitasking are a must;
