Leading trade association in the financial sector is seeking a Vice President of Global Communications to manage the breadth of the organization’s communications work, including public relations, digital strategy, content planning, website development and analytics, and member communications. This position liaises closely with key stakeholders, including senior management, advocacy, marketing and events staff, to coordinate the communication of organizational policy positions and priorities.This is a hybrid position; candidates MUST be able to be on-site in Washington, DC at least three times per week.ResponsibilitiesOversee the strategic direction, creation and implementation of content plans across channels including website, social media, digital publication, conference programming, research papers, podcasts, CEO speeches and member updates.Catalog and prioritize potential back‐end website development/upgrades and front-end updates.Create content reflecting core priorities and industry interest across all communications channels.Oversee the production of the weekly member update newsletter.Oversee the publication of the monthly member email.Produce the annual digital publication that summarizes the organization’s achievements.Support/draft research papers as required.Support other communications efforts as appropriate, including drafting of remarks for delivery at conferences, editorials for publication online, press releases, etc.Maintain and participate in the rotation for editing the organization’s daily aggregation of third‐party news relevant to the industry.Coordinate with colleagues to oversee the editorial calendar for the online magazine.Work with key stakeholders within the organization on the drafting of press releases and oversee the process for sending out press releases to the media.Oversee the process for managing media requests and queries and media participation at events.QualificationsAt least seven years' experience in writing and editing for a professional and/or business audience; experience working in a web publishing environment; experience with deadline-sensitive writing and editing.Excellent writing skills; familiarity with financial markets; high levels of initiative and editorial judgment; commitment to accuracy.Management experience with a background of collaborating across functional departments.Experience with digital communications platforms and analytical tools.Experience in/familiarity with public policy and/or regulation.
