UAV Systems Engineer in DefTech Agency

DefTech Agency is aniche recruiting agency helping defense and deeptech product companies build strong engineering teams. We work with companies that develop fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) — high-precision solutions that perform critical combat and reconnaissance missions every day.

Our client — a technology company that is a recognized leader in the field of aviation solutions for the needs of Ukraine. The unmanned systems created by this team have already completed tens of thousands of successful combat sorties and gained international recognition due to their high efficiency and reliability.

We are currently looking for UAV System Engineer, who will strengthen their R&D team and participate in the development of key components of modern air defense systems. Work in an office, full time.

What will be included in your duties:

1. UAV system design:

• Formation of technical requirements for an unmanned aircraft system.
• Development of hardware and software architecture.
• Selection and integration of key components: avionics, sensors, communication systems, power, engines, payload.
• Ensuring interoperability between subsystems, functional interaction testing.

2. Coordination of technical development:

• Decomposition of tasks, formulation and control of their execution in interdisciplinary teams.
• Cooperation with engineers of electronics, mechanics, software, testing systems, production and operational units.
• Acceptance and validation of development results for compliance with technical requirements.

3. Support of the full life cycle:

• Participation in all stages - from concept to field tests.
• Definition of key control points (milestones) and technical acceptance criteria.
• Ensuring compliance of solutions with project requirements, quality and reliability standards.

4. Documentation:

• Preparation of technical documentation: requirements, explanatory notes, calculations, diagrams, test plans, protocols, instructions.
• Review and approval of design documentation.

What is important:

• Higher technical education (system engineering, aviation, mechatronics, electronics, IT or related).
• 7+ years of experiencein the development and integration of complex engineering systems.
• Practical experience with system design: requirements formulation, architecture, software and hardware integration.
• Experience in projects related to UAVs, aviation or military equipment.
• Understanding the development life cycle: from idea to testing.
• Experience in teamwork and coordination between different engineering areas.

Will be an advantage:

• English at the B1+ level (for technical documentation and communication). Knowledge of standardization specifications: MIL-STD, ISO, DO-178C/DO-254 equivalents (EUROCAE, STANAG).
