Specialized experience is defined as the necessary skillset required to review, evaluate, and maintain training program materials in compliance with accreditation standards.Examples Of Such Experience Could Include:Evaluate training programs to ensure materials and programs address the needs and mission of the organization; OR Provides advice on program issues to officials of the organization; OR Adapting current training materials to meet Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA) standards; OR Gathering information for the development of courses related to process improvements or procedures pertaining to accreditation (i.e. quarterly and annual reports). ORYou may qualify on education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. As indicated in the Individual Occupational Requirements, the Graduate Education must include a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.ORYou may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and specialized experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-9level for 52 weeks.For the GS-9, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing in an administrative support role where you managed projects and researched problems/issues.Examples Of Such Experience Could Include:Researching, updating and coordinating training material and handouts for target audience based on predetermined needs; OR Participating in conducting training or facilitating training; OR Experience with computer software applications to analyze data or generate reports. ORYou may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Masters or equivalent graduate degreeOR2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D. if related. As indicated in the Individual Occupational Requirements, the Graduate Education must include a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.ORYou may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be used in combination with experience.Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-9, you must have been at the GS-7level for 52 weeks.Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.EducationEducation Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency.
