Purpose of the position:

Effective implementation of educational training "Social services: a new quality of care through supported living" with the aim of providing participants with knowledge and practical skills for effective work in the field of social services on supported living.

Subordination:

Reports to the protection manager or responsible by person.

Placeof - Dnipro and region

Format - face-to-face

Duration of training - two trainings, the first up to 18 hours, the second up to 10 hours, the schedule is agreed with the customer and can be adjusted by time / two training sessions, the first lasting up to 18 hours, the second up to 10 hours; the schedule is agreed with the customer and may be adjusted in terms of tim audience.

  • Content update: Ensuring compliance of materials with the current legislation of Ukraine regarding social services and assisted living services.
  • Adaptation: Adaptation of the program and teaching methods in accordance with the level of knowledge and needs of the target audience (staff and MDC).
  • Materials: Preparation of handouts, presentations and practical cases covering all the specified content.
    1. Conduct of trainings:

           The trainer/trainer is obliged to disclose and ensure that the participants learn the following content:

       Training No. 1:

           Regulatory and legal basis and essence of the service:

    • Provide a clear definition: What is the "service of supported residence" (Principles of independent living and deinstitutionalization).
    • Define the providers:
    • Determine the scope of the service.

           Legal and procedural issues:

    • regulate supported living (Key norms of the Social Services Act "On social services").
    • Terms of payment: Explain the concept of paid and free.
    • Receipt procedure: The procedure and tools for comprehensive assessment of needs and What documents are required to receive the service.
    • Crisis: Open the issue of crisis service provision.
    • Termination of provision: When the service can be refused or terminated

              Assessment and planning:

    • Learn the Algorithm for assessing needs and developing an Individual Social Support Plan (IPS).

           Crisis Management:

    • Learn Risk and Crisis Management
    • Conduct an analysis complex "crisis" cases.

           

    Training #2:

    Principles of independent living and deinstitutionalization:

    • Revelation of the essence of the concept of DI and its impact on the quality of life.
    • Definition of the principle of "Independent life" as the basis of the service.

    The role of the institution in the system of community services:

    • Place of supported living in the general system of social services.
    • Interaction with other subjects (Tsnap, hospitals, educational institutions, public organizations).   Rights of people who receive the service:
    • Review of key legislative norms (UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, specific legislation of Ukraine).
    • Personal dignity, non-discrimination and confidentiality.

      Conducting an initial assessment:

    • Purpose and tasks of the initial assessment.
    • Collection of basic information and determining the need for a comprehensive assessment.

  • Social everyday support (practical skills):

    Crisis response and risk management:

       Interaction with external services:

    • The role and powers of the police, emergency medical aid, social services.

    Documentation and reporting:

    • Keeping a log of observations, processing crisis situations, working with confidential information, protection of personal data (ZU "On personal data protection").

           3. Qualification requirements:

    After the training: 

     Participants will receive practical knowledge and skills regarding:

    • In-depth understanding: Participants will have a clear understanding of the philosophy of independent living and all legislative requirements (laws, procedures, grounds for refusal) regarding the provision of assisted living services.
    • Practical competence: Training participants will be able to independently carry out a comprehensive needs assessment and qualitatively develop an Individual Support Plan (IPS).
    • Skills training: Training participants will receive practical methods for teaching users life skills (finances, everyday life, integration into community).
    • Resistance to crises: Participants will learn tools for identifying risks, developing plans forcrisis avoidance and emergency action algorithms.
    • Feedback will be collected from the participants, an analysis of the effectiveness of the training will be conducted, and a final report with conclusions and recommendations will be prepared. management, social sciences, economics or related fields).
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in the field of providing social services or managing social projects. 
    • High communication and presentation skills, the ability to effectively interact with different categories of participants (representatives of communities, NGOs, local authorities). 
    • Skills in facilitating group work and discussions.
    • Having a UNDP certificate will be an advantage.
    • Proficiency in the Ukrainian language at a high level (oral and written).

      Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for high-quality and effective training in accordance with the approved program and objectives.
    • Responsible for the timely and high-quality preparation of educational materials.
    • Responsible for creating a favorable and safe learning atmosphere.
    • Responsible for objectivity and impartiality in providing information and evaluating training results (if available)./
