International Medical Corps will conduct an infant and young child nutrition survey to assess current feeding practices for children aged 0-23 months, access to humanitarian aid and nutritional status children under two years of age inZaporizka, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv , Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Duration of survey: from 07/15/2024 to 08/31/2024

The Survey and Data Collection Specialistwill be responsible for the collection of acceptable quality data based on the Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) survey methodology. They will assist and collaborate with the survey consultant, supervisors, translator, local authorities and MMK staff during survey data collection.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 

  • The survey and data collection specialist will collect data on IYCF assessment, nutritional status of children aged 6-23 months and information related to humanitarian support among mothers with children aged 0-23 months.< /li>
  • It is expected that before starting the actual work in the field, the accountants will undergo a five (5) day training on the methodology of collecting dthose 
  • Identify households/PSUs and select participants according to the protocol.
  • Complete the infant feeding assessment questionnaire and Young Children (IYCF) by conducting interviews with research participants.
  • Ensure daily PSU data collection and collation and daily return of all information including hard copies of documents and audio recordings, to the supervisor.
  • Ensure proper processing of all questionnaires and checklists and daily verification of their completeness and consistency.
  • Check the consistency and completeness of the questionnaires of the Ministry of Health.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Preferred to have a diploma or an advanced degree (depending on responsibility) in the field of social work, statistics, food sciences and health care.
  • Experience in conducting surveys/data collection.
  • Good command of written and spoken Ukrainian. Knowledge of English will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to travel from one area to another during the data collection period
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and skills in using tablets for data collection.
  • Experience in statistics and data analysis is an advantage.
  • Ability to manage priorities, creativity, flexibility.
  • Knowledge in the field of nutrition is an advantage.
  • Mostly women, as they will be conducting focus group discussions on infant and young child nutrition, including breastfeeding.

Service providers are not eligible to participate in health and life insurance schemes available to International Medical Corps personnel.
