International Medical Corps will conduct an infant and young child nutrition survey to assess current feeding practices for children aged 0-23 months, access to humanitarian aid and nutritional status children under two years of age inZaporizka, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv , Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
Duration of survey: from 07/15/2024 to 08/31/2024
The Survey and Data Collection Specialistwill be responsible for collecting data of acceptable quality based on the survey methodology on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF). They will assist and collaborate with the Implementation Consultant survey, by supervisors, translator, local authorities and MMK employees during survey data collection.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- The survey and data collection specialist will collect data on IYCF assessment, nutritional status of children aged 6-23 months and information related to humanitarian support among mothers with children aged 0-23 months.< /li>
- Enumerators are expected to undergo a five (5) day training on data collection methodology before starting actual field work.
- Identify households/PSUs and conduct samplingnics according to the protocol.
- Complete the Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) questionnaire by conducting interviews with study participants.
- Ensure daily data collection from PSUs and their collation , as well as the daily return of all information, including hard copies of documents and audio recordings, to the supervisor.
- Ensure that all questionnaires and checklists are properly processed and checked daily for completeness and consistency.
- Check consistency and the completeness of the questionnaires of the Ministry of Health.
QUALIFICATION:
< li style="font-style: normal; font-weight: 400">Experience in conducting surveys/data collection.- Good to have written and spoken Ukrainian language. Knowledge of English will be an added advantage.
- Ability to travel from one area to another during the data collection period
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and skills in using tablets for collection data.
- Experience in statistics and data analysis is an advantage.
- Ability to manage priorities, creativity, flexibility.
- Knowledge in the field of nutrition is an advantage.
- Mostly women, as they will be conducting focus group discussions on infant and young child nutrition, including breastfeeding.
