Sim-Networks Ukraine (subsidiary company of the German Netversor GmbH) invites a support system administrator to its team.
< p>Your tasks will be:
- technical support of the company's clients in the field of hosting (work in the ticket system);
- help clients in working with services and prompt elimination of malfunctions, assistance in transferring sites and projects;
- strict compliance with the rules and norms of service provision (according to SLA);
- participation in filling and improving the knowledge base (KB);
work as a system administrator for 2 years or more;- previous experience in providing hosting services will be a great advantage for the candidate;
experience of remote work with server and network equipment in a data center;

- the ability to quickly find reasons, problems and ways to solve them;
- willingness to work on a variable schedule remotely from home.
You must know and be able to:
Linux OS (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu) - above intermediate / high level, including:
- basic system installation and configuration;
- experience with hardware and software RAID 0/1/5/10;
- experience with LVM;
- diagnosis of CPU / RAM / HDD / network loads;
- system settings for sysctl / ulimits loads;
system backup and recovery;
- installation or assembly of non-standard packages.
OS Windows Server - the average level of administration of these systems, including:
- basic installation and configuration of the system;
- experience with Raid software;
- configuration of terminal server RDS;
- installation and configuration of AD domain controller;
system backup / recovery from backup copies.
Remote work with servers using IPMI / ILO / iDRAC tools, including:
- installation and configuration of Linux/Windows operating systems ;
- Setting BIOS / HW Raid 0,1,5,6,10;
diagnosis of server status;
- diagnosis of HW Raid status — replacement of faulty ones drives, Raid expansion.
Remote work with switches and routers of network equipment, including:
- basic setting of remote connection;
- basic configuration of L3 routing;
- experience with VPN IPSEC, OpenVPN, L2TP;
- experience with VLAN network;
- basic diagnosis of states: port status, hardware status, presence of errors in operation;
- firmware (FW) update.
XEN / ESXi / KVM virtualization, including:
p>
- basic installation and configuration of hypervisors in various variations — Xen opensource / XenServer / ESXi — 5.5−6.5 / KVM / Proxmox;
- knowledge and understanding of virtualization principles;
- OS migration between different hypervisors;
- search for problems related to loads and lack of resources;
- knowledge and understanding of the principles of virtual networks;
- experience with backup in virtual systemszations.
Virtual hosting, including:
- knowledge and understanding of the principles of LAMP shared hosting;
- the ability to work with control panels , in particular ISPmanager or its analogues Cpanel / DirectAdmin / VestaCP / ISPConfig / etc;
- finding problems in the work of client site scripts;
- transferring sites between accounts and between different servers;< /p>
- migration of sites from other hosting providers;
- help in solving problems with incorrect operation of sites or mail on virtual hosting;
- help in using the service;
- help in installing and basic configuration of scripts/CMS;
- help in restoring sites from backup copies;
- knowledge / understanding of the principles of providing hosting services- provider — virtual hosting, virtual servers, dedicated servers, DNS, cloud services, equipment placement;
- writing scripts to automate work (bash / perl / python);
- knowledge / experience working with server software (nginx, apache, mysql, php, exim);
- average level of knowledge in MySQL / PostgreSQL / MSSQL DBMS, working with SQL queries, organizing backup copies, restoring from backups copies, load diagnostics;
- knowledge of application-level protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, FTP, ISCSI, NFS, CIFS, DNS), ability to diagnose the operation of these protocols.
