Job Purpose

The Staff Wellbeing and Development Officer organizes, creates, and implements training initiatives and well-being programs for staff across capital and field bases. The Officer performs duties under the direct management of the Human Resources Manager and with the guidance of the Senior Management Team. This includes but is not limited to: identification and development of priority training needs and support programs, internal and external, for staff; communication and liaison with Heads of Departments on initiatives; organization of well-being and support initiatives; and development of handbooks/guides and online trainings, as relevant. The overarching goal of the Officer is to improve the overall well-being, job satisfaction, and productivity of the organization's employees. By providing employees with support, guidance, and resources for personal and professional development, the organization aims to create a more positive and supportive workplace culture that fosters creativity, collaboration, and career growth.

Responsibilities

Professional and personal development

  • Design and conduct internal training sessions tailored to specific teams' needs, covering topics such as:< /li>
  • Leadership skills and team management for new managers
  • Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and effective communication
  • Stress management
  • Support heads of departments in developing team workshops
  • Coordinate information sharing and participation in external trainings and learning opportunities for staff

 Staff wellbeing

  • Work closely with the SMT and staff to identify key challenges faced by staff in the workplace and develop staff support measures to mitigate them
  • Facilitate group activities to foster teambuilding within and among departments, and provide opportunities for connection and support

  • Plan, promote, and actively participate in office/base-level initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion

Experience and skills:

  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in the development and implementation of tasks oriented towards staff welfare and staff capacity development;
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required (and will be assessed via interview).
  • Motivated to work as part of a teamwork in a multicultural environment, requiring flexibility and ability to work to tight deadlines;
