BF "Right to Protection" (hereinafter - the Foundation) is a charitable organization that focuses its activities on providing assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs), victims of military operations, refugees and stateless persons. The Fund is an executive partner of the UNHCR and monitors the situation of protection of the rights of IDPs, providing legal assistance and strengthening the humanitarian response in 22 regions of Ukraine, and also promotes changes in the national legal base, bringing it into line with international standards in the field of human rights. Ukraine" is looking for a specialist in the monitoring of the IDP situation in the city of Pavlograd (Dnipropetrovsk region). Duties and tasks Directly under the guidance of the senior monitoring specialist, and the overall guidance of the protection coordinator and the regional team leader, the employee must:
- monitor compliance with the rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons (hereinafter - IDPs) and persons injured as a result of hostilities, on a permanent basis in the given locations according to the existing methodology;
- visit state bodies that provide services to IDPs, places of compact settlement of IDPs, activities aimed at IDPs, etc.;
- communicate with IDPs, persons affected by hostilities, representatives of government institutions and non-governmental organizations, in order to collect information about the humanitarian situation in general;
- provide reports in a timely manner on a daily basis, based on the results of monitoring visits;
- if necessary, conduct emergency monitoring visits to military incidents within the region (this may also apply to weekends)
- prepare reports on a specific incident and/or the humanitarian situation in general;
- identify the most vulnerable IDPs and their needs;
- explain legal norms for IDPs and persons affected by hostilities, counseling on other issues;
- provide other individual assistance to IDPs;
- timely and fully reflect information in the IDPs CRM system;
- identify potential beneficiaries for participation in the IPA cash program;
- perform other duties as needed;
- understanding and compliance with the Code of Conduct and other policies of the Foundation;
- preference is given to candidates who have their own car.
Professional requirements
- higher education (preferably: sociology, law, journalism);
- preferred knowledge of human rights;
- willingness to work significantly in the "fields" (outside the office);
- willingness to travel a lot and over normal working hours;
- knowledge and understanding of the legislation regarding IDPs and the area where the OOC is held;
- ability to collect information in accordance with the goals and objectives of the project;
- skills to prepare reports (analytical, regarding a separate incident);
- understanding of humanitarian principles;
- excellent communication skills, readiness for daily communication with people (IDPs, representatives of government institutions);
- preference is given to IDPs who lost their jobs due to displacement;
- self-motivation;
- flexibility.
Residence in the specified location and awareness of the local situation will be significant advantages.
