The Fund is an executive partner of the UNHCR and carries out direct legal aid programs throughout Ukraine, promotes changes in the national legal base, bringing it into line with international standards in the field of human rights.
Project "Complex services for the protection of the civilian population affected by hostilities and improving the resilience skills of workers who come to help first" is aimed at protecting and supporting the rights of internally displaced persons and the population affected by hostilities at the national, local and individual levels. Within the framework of this project, during 2026, the Fund will monitor the protection of the rights of IDPs and provide free legal assistance to internally displaced persons in the regions of Ukraine.
The project is looking for a Specialist (position) in monitoring the situation of IDPs inm. Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk Region).
Responsibilities and tasks
Under the direct supervision of the senior monitoring specialist, and the general supervision of the security coordinator and regional team leader, employee must:
- monitor compliance with the rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons (hereinafter referred to as IDPs) and persons injured as a result of hostilities, on a permanent basis in given locations according to the existing methodology;
- visit state bodies that provide IDP services, places of compact settlement of IDPs, activities aimed at IDPs, etc.;
- communicate with IDPs, persons affected by hostilities, representatives of government institutions and non-governmental organizations, in order to collect information on the humanitarian situation as a whole;
- provide reports in a timely manner on a daily basis, based on the results of monitoring visits;
- if necessary, conduct emergency monitoring visits to military incident sites within the region (this may also apply to weekends)
- prepare reports on a specific incident and/or the humanitarian situation in general;
- identify the most vulnerable IDPs and their needs;
- explain the norms of legislation for IDPs and persons injured as a result of hostilities, counseling on other issues;
- provide other individual assistance to IDPs;
- display information in a timely and complete manner in the IDPs CRM system;
- identify potential beneficiaries for participation in the IPA cash program;
- perform other duties as needed;
- understanding and compliance with the Code of Conduct and other policies Fund.
Professional requirements
- higher education (preferably: sociology, law, journalism);
- preferred knowledge of human rights;
- willingness to work significantly in the "fields" (outside the office);
- willingness to travel a lot and over normal working hours;
- knowledge and understanding of the legislation regarding IDPs and the area where the OOC is held;
- ability to collect information in accordance with the goals and objectives of the project;
- skills to prepare reports (analytical, regarding a separate incident);
- understanding of humanitarian principles;
- excellent communication skills, readiness for daily communication with people (IDPs, representatives of government institutions);
- preference is given to IDPs who lost their jobs due to displacement;
- self-motivation;
- flexibility.
Residence in the specified location and awareness of the local situation will be significant advantages.
