General information

BF "Right to Defense" (Foundation) is a charitable organization focused on providing assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs), people in need of international protection, stateless persons and groups at risk of statelessness. The Fund is an executive partner of UNHCR and implements programs of free legal aid throughout Ukraine, as well as promotes changes in national legislation in accordance with international standards in the field of human rights. 400"> is financed by FCDO and is aimed at protecting and supporting the civilian population affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The project is implemented by a consortium of Ukrainian and international organizations, where each organization brings its expertise and works in a specific field. It aims to protect and support IDPs and other vulnerable groups through emergency assistance (evacuations, temporary accommodation, financial support), ensuring access to basic services (legal aid, documentation, social transport), as well as national advocacy for reforms in the areas of protection, compensation and social policy. Special attention is paid to children, people with disabilities, the elderly, veterans, victims of domestic violence and other vulnerable categories.

In the period from September 2025 to March 2028, the Fund will implement measures to monitor protection, provide legal assistance, increase access to basic services and develop stability of communities in the regions of Ukraine: Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

The project is implemented in regions and communities, including those with a high level of security risks (in particular, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson regions). BF "Right to Defense" organizes working conditions taking into account the security context and provides measures to reduce risks and protect the team.

All persons who are part of the team or provide services to the Foundation, involved in the implementation of the project of the "Right to Defense" Charitable Foundation, work under conditions of readiness for trips to areas with high and highest risk. This can include settlements located within 0-40 km from the front line or state border, including areas where there are recorded cases of indiscriminate shelling and other threats to life and health related to military risks.

Depending on the humanitarian situation and the priority of needs, specialists may be involved in trips to communities with limited access, where the most vulnerable groups of us are locateddeer Accordingly, each candidate for this position must be aware of the potential risks to life and health associated with working in such conditions and be prepared to act in accordance with approved safety procedures.

Before starting work or during the employment process, all persons who are part of the team or provide services to the Foundation who may be involved in trips to high-risk areas will undergo comprehensive training aimed at preparation for work in potentially dangerous conditions (conflict zones or other regions with an increased level of risk). The program will include basic first aid skills, mine risk orientation, shelling, evacuation and field risk management.

The foundation uses all available technical tools and training to reduce physical risks. Namely: issues PPE, tactical first-aid kits and other equipment.

Within the framework of the project, a specialist in social issues will be based in the city of Khersonand will travel to the communities of the Kherson region, which will be agreed by the security department of the Fund and where there is the greatest need for help to ensure quick access to vital services for people affected by the war and who are unable to get to the aid centers on their own and will provide information on social issues, help with filing documents and solving social issues. The specialist will provide a case management service: assessment of a person's needs, development of an individual plan of assistance and coordination in obtaining social support from various services and providing a holistic approach to protection issues. style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none">Identification of individuals and families in need of social support;

  • Provision of social assistance to affected persons: social services of counseling, information, physical support, representation of interests according to needs, as well as case management;
  • Assistance to identified affected persons/beneficiaries in obtaining additional services (medical, social, psychological, legal, provision of temporary shelter, etc.), in particular through referral, if necessary, to relevant general or specialized support services for affected persons and/or others subjects;
  • Maintaining contact with local authorities and their institutions, as well as other humanitarian organizations;
  • Reporting in the Fund's internal database;
  • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Foundation Policies;
  • Preference is given to candidates with a car.
  • PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Higher education in the field of social, legal, psychological or humanitarian sciences;
    • Understanding current legislation and methods of providing social services will be an advantage;
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with different categories of the population;
    • Experience working with internally displaced persons will be an advantage;
    • Knowledge of the principles of confidentiality and work with personal data;
    • Understanding humanitarian principles and gender approach;
    • Attention to details, ability to work in difficult conditions;
    • Strong communication skills, autonomy in work, proactivity and flexibility.
