Specialist of the finance department / Finance Officer in Samaritan`s Purse

Goal of the mission

"Samaritans Perse" is a non-denominational evangelical Christian organization, the purpose of which is to provide spiritual and physical assistance to affected people around the world.  Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has been helping to provide for the needs of people who have become victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine, seeking to spread God's love through God's Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church around the world, preaching the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Position description

The financial department specialist is responsible for checking operations with accountable funds and bank transactions in order to ensure their accuracy, organization and storage of paper and electronic financial documentation, as well as providing administrative support to the Financial Manager as needed.

Main tasks

• Ensuring the relevance of accounting of accountable funds, expense reports and bank transactions in the accounting registers and accounting system;
• Checking and ensuring the accuracy of financial operations;
• Processing of personnel expense reports in accordance with Samaritan’s Purse field financial policies;
• Maintaining an orderly paper and electronic archive of financial documents;
• Administering funds and keeping records of accountable funds in the accounting system;
• Assisting the finance manager in coordinating and maintaining the cash flow forecasting system to ensure sufficient project funding;
• Updating and keeping records of employee advances in the accounting system;
• Performance of other tasks with a willingness to serve for the good of Samaritan’s Purse Ukraine.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision;

• Excellent administrative skills;
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Flexibility and adaptability;
• Strong organizational and cross-cultural communication skills (oral and written);
• High level of English (oral and written).

Education / Experience Required

• Bachelor's Degree or Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field;
• 1-2 years of experience in in the field of finance.

Language

Compulsory command of Englishin the Russian and Ukrainian languages. Ability to read and understand instructions, safety rules and procedures in English, and to prepare standard reports and correspondence in English.

Ability to think logically

Ability to make decisions practical problems and dealing with various specific variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of written and oral instructions, diagrams or graphics.

Working hours:

8:30-17:00, MON-FRI
