Position Reports to: WPE Coordinator, WPE Senior Manager, WPE Manager, WPE Senior Officer.
Internal cooperation within theIRC< /strong>: Child Protection Team; Defense team; the Economic Recovery and Development team; Health team.
External cooperation with IRC: Entities, organizations and agencies for combating GHG.
The employee will oversee activities to prevent GBV, engage the public and reduce risks. This activity will focus on targeted work with communities on issues related to GHG, using a variety of methods appropriate to the context. In particular, the employee on the prevention of GBV will be responsible for:
1) Implementation and quality of the program: proactively create and develop measures to mitigate the consequences of GBV and community engagement, ensuring, in particular, adherence to WPE best practices, guidelines and approaches:
- Train and support other IRC sectors and programs on risk reduction and identify specific actions they can take to increase participation women and girls and reducing the risks they face in the community.
- Seek technical guidance and support from the WPE Senior Officer on development, implementation and resource availability.
- Strengthen compliance with the guiding principles of combating GBV in all activities of the program, as well as ensure the confidentiality of victims, informed consent and respect for their wishes and decisions.

strong> Participation in needs and vulnerability assessment: Following approved procedures, guidelines and assessment tools, bear direct responsibility for:
- Mapping and conducting an initial assessment of needs and vulnerability at the community level and locality.
- For carrying out risk assessment of public health facilities and preparing reports in cooperation with WPE Senior Officer.
- For localization of types of program activities, reporting on their coverage.
3) Public Involvement: Building and maintaining relationships with communities, in particular, with local leaders, groups, organizations and participants:
- Conducting trainings for GBV organizations and actors.
- Develop messages about the types of services available to victims of GBV, where these services are available, how communities can help victims access services, and the consequences GOH and the benefits of seeking help and support using a variety of methods appropriate to the context.
- Conduct a variety of outreach and mobilization activities in communities aimed at preventing violence and building communities that support and protect women and girls.
- Support distribution of kits to reduce risks and protect dignity and carry out further monitoring.
4) Administration and reporting: Conduct reporting on the GBV prevention program , in particular:
- Timely preparation and submission of weekly work plans of activitiesabout the agreed deadlines
- Preparation of a short daily report on the activities carried out and weekly submission to the Senior Program Officer.
- Fill in all relevant tools for the activities carried out
- Contribute to the preparation monthly reports, including information on public engagement activities, public consultations and progress made.
5) Coordination and representation: Interact with organizations and actors to identify issues and strategies , which reduce the risks faced by women and girls, to jointly develop interventions to solve the problems. Actively participate in coordination meetings related to IRC issues when requested by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Language: Ukrainian, English - will be considered an advantage.
- Higher education (not lower than a bachelor's degree) in the field of social work, human rights, social sciences, health care, humanitarian sciences or in another related field.< /p>
- Proven experience in community work, community mobilization and engagement, and working with women and girls affected by conflict/crisis.
- Ability to keep records and write simple and basic reports about activities will be an added advantage.
- Ability to speak honestly, professionally and thoughtfully on sensitive topics.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries.
- Positive and professional attitude, including the ability to lead and work well in a team.
- High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
