The Program Specialist will work directly with MMK Program Coordinators/Managers in the field to ensure effective implementation of all programs and operational activities to ensure effective operations. The Program Specialist will work at the intersection of all program sectors, procurement, human resources and finance, logistics to ensure compliance with all MMK policies and timely satisfaction of beneficiary needs.

Main tasks and responsibilities

To successfully perform this job, a person must be able to perform each essential function with or without consideration of individual conditions. The tasks listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Program Support

  • Work closely with field program coordinators/managers to understand program objectives.
  •  Collaborate with procurement and technical staff to create, submit and track requests for the purchase and specifications of the necessary goods.

  • Participate in management meetings, create meeting minutes, record action plan items, monitor and provide support to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • If necessary, translate documents into the local language.
  • Monitor and control all purchases in the designated area.
  • Cooperate with the monitoring group to track program progress using program indicator tracking tables.
  • Preparation of employment applications and other documentation for new field workers.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner and with accurate data.
  • Respond to resource development department inquiries regarding future funding opportunities and donor reporting.
  • Participate in needs assessments, workshops, trainings, field trips, etc.- 
  • Collaborate and respond to HR team requests to ensure adequate staffing team and compliance with all policies all policies are followed.
  • Collaborate and assist the MEAL team to ensureensure proper collection, storage and analysis of all program data.
  • Collaborate and respond to requests from the finance team to ensure payments are made and financial procedures are followed closely.
  • Assist with program related activities in the field as needed. 
  • Be flexible and take on additional responsibility when necessary
  • Representation

      As needed attend meetings with donors, UN agencies, ministries and other stakeholders on behalf of MMK.
    • Develop and maintain contacts in the donor community, government, UN agencies and other non-governmental organizations.< /span>
    • Contribute to the creation of a positive image and general trust in the organization, in particular through the application of the MMK Code of Conduct and institutional ethics and values ​​in relation to internal and external partners.

    Resource Management

    • Supervise the work of the humanitarian program assistant and promote his/her potential and professional growth.
    • Maintain open lines of communication with all program managers and coordinators, field managers, and the senior management team.< br/>

    Security

    • Ensure compliance with protocols and mission-wide security policy.
    • Sexual Exploitation and Violence Prevention:
    • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and violence) within the framework of the International Medical Corps and among the beneficiaries served by the International Medical Corps.

    Minimum requirements

    • Higher education in public health, international relations, social work, international crisis response or development and/or education in a relevant field of expertise. Master's degree preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for education level.
    • Two years of work experience in a non-profit, humanitarian, non-governmental or governmental organization related to the provision of humanitarian assistance.

    Competencies

    • Ability to remain positive and professional in a stressful work environment. 
    • Ability to withstand the challenges of adverse conditions in both a growing urban context and resource-constrained remote field sites.
    • Relevant experience in the region preferred.
    • Ability to make sound judgments, remain flexible to a changing environment and make decisions independently.
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work well in an intercultural team with different socialeconomic background.
    • Preference is given to experience working with partners in the field of project implementation.
