Job Description< /strong>

The Humanitarian Program Specialist will work directly with International Medical Corps Humanitarian Program Regional Supervisors/Managers to ensure the efficient operation of all programs and operations. The Specialist will work with various program sectors, as well as procurement, logistics, human resources and finance, to ensure compliance with all International Medical Corps policies and to meet the needs of beneficiaries in a timely manner.

Main tasks and responsibilities

To be successful in this position, the candidate must perform the main duties independently or special conditions are required labor  

  • Work closely with Program Managers/Program Coordinator to understand program objectives.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager and Program Coordinator on program management documents, maintaining and updating program management tools (personnel plan, procurement plan and work plan) on a monthly basis. 
  • Collaborate with the monitoring program to track program progress using program performance tracking charts.
  • Collaborate with procurement and technical staff to submit and track purchase requests and technical specifications.
  • If necessary, translate documents. 
  • Compile monthly and quarterly reports, on time and with accurate data.
  • Participate in needs assessments, seminars, trainings and visits to other offices, etc.
  • Take participation in regular meetings, create minutes of meetings, develop an action program, monitor and provide support to ensure the timely completion of tasks.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive image and general trust in the organization, in particular, by applying the Code of Ethics ethics and values ​​of MMK indealing with internal and external entities.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies throughout the mission.
  • Any other tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor or authorized person. 
  • Additional duties, such as temporary expansion of territorial responsibility, filling vacant positions for a certain period, replacing colleagues who are on sick leave/annual leave/business trip, internal duplication of positions, any specific tasks, etc. related to organizational needs.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in public health, international crisis response or development, and/or related field of expertise. 
  • Two years of experience in a programming position in a non-profit, non-governmental or government organization
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and other common applications.
  • Ability to remain positive and professional in stressful work environments.
  •  Ability to withstand the challenges of challenging environments in both a growing urban context and remote field environments with limited resources.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian.
  • Ability to work well with a multicultural team from different socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Experience working with local implementing partners is preferred.
