Job Description
The Humanities Program Specialist will work directly with the Deputy Directors Missions and regional leaders of the International Medical Corps to ensure the efficient operation of all programs and operations. The Specialist will work with various program sectors, as well as Procurement, Logistics, Human Resources and Finance, to ensure compliance with all International Medical Corps policies and to meet the needs of beneficiaries in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities< /strong>
To be successful in this position, the candidate must perform the main duties independently or special working conditions are required.
- Work closely with Deputy Country Directors/Regional Managers to understand program objectives.
- Collaborate with procurement and technical staff to create, submit and track purchase requisitions and specifications of required items.
- Cooperate with deputy directors of the Representation and heads of the humanitarian programs department on program management documents; maintaining and updating program management tools (personnel plan, procurement plan, work plan) on a monthly basis.
- Participate in management meetings, take meeting minutes, develop action plan, monitor and provide support to ensure timely execution of tasks.
- Translate documents as needed.
- Track and control all purchases in assigned territory.
- Collaborate with monitoring team to monitor progress execution of programs using tracking program tables.
- Prepare applications for regional offices and other documentation for new employees.
- Compile timely monthly and quarterly reports using reliable data.
- Respond to resource development department inquiries regarding future funding opportunities and reporting to donors.
- Participate in needs assessments, workshops, trainings, field trips, etc.
- Collaborate and respond to HR requests to ensure the team is properly staffed and adheres to all policy.
- Collaborate and respond to requests from the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Training team to ensure the appropriate collection, storage and analysis of all program data.
- Collaborate and respond to requests from the finance department to ensuremaking payments and carefully following financial processes.
- Assist with field program activities as needed.
- Show flexibility and take on additional responsibility when necessary.
Representation
- Attend meetings with donors, agencies by the UN, government ministries and other stakeholders on behalf of the organization as necessary.
- Develop and maintain contacts with the donor community, the government, UN agencies and other non-governmental organizations.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive image and general trust in the organization, in particular, through the application of the Code of Ethical Conduct International Medical Corps and institutional ethics and values in relation to internal and external subjects.
Management of human resources
- Supervise the work of the humanitarian program assistant and promote his/her potential development and professional growth.
- Maintain open lines of communication with all managers, humanitarian program leaders, field managers and the senior management team.
Security
- Ensure compliance with mission-wide security protocols and policies.
- Prevent and counter sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Actively promote standards of prevention and response to sexual exploitation and violence within the International Medical Corps and among the beneficiaries assisted by the International Medical Corps.
- Perform other tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements
- Higher education in public health, international relations, social work, international crisis response or development and/or education in a relevant field of expertise. A master's degree is preferred.
- Two years of work experience in a non-profit, humanitarian, non-governmental or governmental organization related to the provision of humanitarian aid.

- Ability to remain positive and professional in stressful situations.
- Ability to work in challenging environments both in the city and in remote field locations with limited resources.
- Candidates with relevant work experience are preferred.
- Ability to make sound judgments, remain flexible in a changing environment and make independent decisions.
- Excellent verbal skills and written communication.
- Ability to work well in a cross-cultural team with different socio-economic backgrounds.
- Experience working with implementing partners is preferred.
