About the organization

Swiss Foundation for Mine Action FSD is a non-commercial, apolitical and independent organization of any ideology, religion or nationality. The head office of the FSD is located in Geneva, Switzerland.

The purpose of the organization

The main purpose of the FSD is to promote demining activities. In general, the totality of the organization's activities is aimed at alleviating and reducing the social, economic and ecological consequences of pollution from land mines and explosive remnants of war on the territory of Ukraine.

Purpose of the position:

Under the general direction of the Chairman of the Board and the direct supervision of the manager of administrative activities, a specialist in public education and of communications is responsible for the daily coverage of the activities of the teams operating in the project and the management of the company's media for the education of the population regarding mine danger.

Location:

The place of work is based in Chernihiv. This position includes business trips both within the Chernihiv region and to other regions, including, but not limited to, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Kyiv regions. 

Tasks and responsibilities:

< li style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal">Build and manage relations with mass media (international, national);
• Create informative and advertising media in Ukrainian and English;
• Expand and support the presence of the FSD in social networks;
• Communicate and make different presentations to different audiences depending on the needs;
• Contribute to the maintenance and development of networks / relations with the media and other relevant stakeholders;
• Write reports, press releases and produce audiovisual materials about humanitarian situation and the FSD response to it;
• The position involves daily travel from the location and possibly travel toseveral days.
• The position does not involve the requirement to touch or otherwise interact with mines or PPE.

Basic requirements:

• Experience in the field of journalism/media/communication - from 1 year;
• Experience in writing articles, photo/video shooting and their further processing;
• Fluency in Ukrainian, English;
• Advanced user of MS Office, social media, Adobe Photoshop;
• Having a driver's license will be an advantage.

General terms and conditions

The term of employment depends on the duration of external financing of projects in Ukraine. The minimum term of work is 6 months with the possibility of extension.
