Yours the main responsibilities of the position will be:

  • Planning and coordinating the work of the NTO/IRVNP team.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the team about the context, including the types of contamination of NPO and report its changes to the Team Leader.
  • Lead the implementation of NTO processes by managing the field work of the team with NTO/IRVNP.
  • Analyze collected evidence and evaluate the level of credibility of various sources of information to determine the type and extent of contamination.
  • Determine the boundaries of suspected and confirmed hazardous areas.
  • Make evidence-based recommendations for the removal of land parcels.
  • Prepare and initiate comprehensive reports with NTOs with maps, photographs and coordinates.
  • Establish contacts with community leaders and local authorities. Manage community expectations regarding demining operations and respond to complaints/concerns.
  • Conduct community needs assessments.
  • Manage the implementation of IRVD processes.
  • Organize and conduct live and online IRVD classes for adults, adolescents and children in accordance with DRB SOPs using standard and approved methodologies.
  • As a trainer, conduct training of trainers with IRVNP at the local level.
  • Ensure the safety of NTO/IRVNP teams during field visits. Maintain working relationships and regular communication with security stakeholders in the areas of operations.
  • Complete basic NTO/IRVNP documentation and upload data and supporting documentation to the information management system.
  • Liaise with DRB Humanitarian Demining Unit, Mine Victims and INP Assistance Unit and other DRB sectors to ensure an integrated approach.
  • As requested, assist in implementing procurement, including the development of necessary documentation.
  • Support junior NTO/IRVNP professionals, their work and promote their capacity development.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and the task management plan, notifying team leaders of issues with itx implementation.

About you:

To be successful in this position, we expect you to have at least 2 years of experience in the field of NGOs or IRVNP. In addition, we also expect the following from you:

 Required

  • Education: higher;
  • Experience of working with authorities, different communities and interacting with children and youth;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to detail with knowledge of data collection methodologies and reporting procedures in humanitarian mine action;
  • Languages: Fluency in Ukrainian, at least basic knowledge of English;
  • PC skills: basic computer literacy, including the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to work in ArcGIS, Survey123 and Google Earth. Ability to collect and record accurate field data.

Desirable

  • Skills in public speaking/conducting trainings, presentations of working with the audience in offline and online formats;
  • Availability of a valid a certificate of successful completion of training with NGOs and/or IRVNP issued by an international organization will be an advantage;
  • Confirmed experience of working with children, teenagers and adults;
  • Skills and experience of negotiations;
  • Resistance to stress.
