International Medical Corps is currently looking for a team of < strong>Specialist in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS Officer) in Kharkiv.

Job description< /strong>

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Specialist works closely with the manager and technical leaders to provide all necessary support to the field team (team psychosocial workers and psychologists). He/she ensures the appropriate quality of services and solutions to all team needs.  

Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Program Manager to understand the program, goals and objectives, as well as to become familiar with the International Medical Corps' PPSSP strategy ; coordinating with relevant staff in the field as well as at the site level and gathering information on needs and gaps to facilitate new program development.  
  • Assist in ongoing assessment and analysis to understand staffing needs according to the program and diverse needs of beneficiaries, mapping service points and identifying partners.  
  • Development and presentation of detailed and updated program implementation plans, including work plans, HR and procurement plans, training plans to support achievement of program goals, objectives and activities.  
  • Support in the organization and provision of training to the International Medical Corps program and partners to develop and update training plans submitted monthly.  
  • Working on updating the International Medical Corps PZPSP location matrix for work stations on a monthly basis and attending meetings of PZPSP working subgroups in the assigned location. 
  • Preparation of invitations and attendance sheets and recording of working hours required for working group meetings (in the absence of an assistant in the office)
  • Supporting the Manager in monitoring activities and managing field staff in relevant aspects of the program such as tasks, activities, objectives,indicators, the quality of the services provided, ensuring the planned implementation of the program and meeting all the needs and requirements of the program at the field level. 
  • Attending International Medical Corps trainings, if such trainings are planned and conducted. 

  • Preparation, participation and document approval of Technical meetings with the Social Work Manager in coordination with the team leader (if necessary). 

  • Attend regular weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the Program Manager. 

    and coordination of work with local participants, holding a team meeting to discuss information updates for the field team regarding the program and policy, and monitoring implementation and quality of activities. 

  • Planning and organizing needs assessment to improve proposal development with accurate information.

  • Receiving success stories from field teams, translating into English, editing, presenting and submitting monthly / quarterly reports. 

Other tasks as requested by supervisor based on program needs.  

Minimum Requirements, Required Skills and Qualifications

< ul style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal">
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education or other related field.  
  • Work experience from 1 year in a position in PZPSP / defense.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Ukrainian/Russian and English. 

  • The possibility of short-term business trips to project sites and other government institutions if necessary.  

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Strong organizational skills to management skills.  

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, in a multicultural environment, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and ensure quality work  

  • PC knowledge with demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office, esp.ema, Word, Excel.  

  • Opportunity to visit field sites every week.
