JOB INFORMATION

IRC is looking for a Capacity Development Specialist to join our Women's Rights Protection and Empowerment program in Ukraine. The capacity development specialist will develop and implement trainings on GHG, protection, and any other relevant topics, as well as support the activities of partner organizations in developing their capacity, participate in the development and implementation of sessions and informational materials of the program through direct implementation. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct training needs assessment for program staff and other IRC sector staff and partners to identify training needs and capacity development gaps.
  • Will regularly inform line manager of identified training and capacity development gaps and needs.
  • Participate in the development of the training plan in close cooperation with the Senior Program Manager.
  • Will plan, coordinate and conduct relevant trainings on women's protection and empowerment and GBV prevention for program staff and IRC partners.
  • < li>Support public engagement.
  • Support the development of software tools.
  • Strengthen integrations within the IRC and other departments.
  • Assist in the development and adaptation of training materials (handouts materials, presentations, etc.) and tools for monitoring the effectiveness of trainings, including pre- and post-testing; will work on updating training materials, modules and tools, facilitation guides, etc. as requested.
  • Support and collaborate with the heads of partner organizations.
  • Support partner organizations in building their capacity in the development of project proposals , implementation of programs, monitoring and evaluation of project results.
  • Conduct questionnaires before and after trainings and evaluations to determine the quality of trainings and their impact.  Will conduct an assessment of staff attitudes throughout the implementation of the program to understand whether the trainings help to integrate the response activities to HGV into their work.consistent with IRC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely preparation of all necessary requirements for successful training.
  • Coordinate and organize logistics for training.
  • Provide support in development and implementation of public engagement and outreach strategies, plans, and activities.
  • Provide support in developing or revising guidelines and resources used to conduct outreach sessions and outreach activities, and also ensure necessary community outreach sessions.
  • Will prepare and submit timely reports related to training activities.
  • Conduct regular training and mentoring sessions with local partner staff and involve other members of the IRC team to provide technical assistance and expertise.
  • Will ensure proper documentation of all training and capacity building sessions, record attendance and prepare reports as required.
  • Responsible for coordination, follow-up working with program staff to ensure an effective referral system.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:Master's degree in social work, psychology, human rights or law, or related fields

Work experience:Minimum 3 years of coaching experience work in the field of gender equality, women's empowerment and combating gender-based violence.

Available skills and abilities:

- Demonstrated understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries

- Excellent communication skills

- A positive and professional attitude, including the ability to plan and work well in a team

- A high degree of flexibility and ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and pay attention to detail

- Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
