The Fund is an executive partner of the UNHCR and monitors the situation of protection of the rights of IDPs, providing legal assistance and strengthening the humanitarian response in 22 regions of Ukraine, and also promotes changes in the national legal base, bringing it into line with international standards in the field of human rights.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

BF "Right to Protection" is a partner of the Response Consortium within the framework of the implementation of the project "Providing multi-sectoral humanitarian aid to the population affected by the conflict in Ukraine (2023-2026)" with financial support US government. The Response Consortium is implementing a multi-sectoral humanitarian aid program for the population affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The Goal is to strengthen people's resilience and ability to overcome the consequences of war through timely access to multi-sectoral support and quality information management. The target groups are internally displaced persons, people affected by the war, returnees after the reduction of the intensity of hostilities, with the priority of supporting the elderly and persons with disabilities.

The geography of implementation is urban and remote rural communities of the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. The economic capacity building component is implemented in Poltava, Chernihiv and Sumy regions. 

Target groups: Internally displaced persons, people affected by war, returnees after the reduction of the intensity of hostilities, with priority to support the elderly and persons with disabilities.

As part of the project, the social affairs specialist will work in the Odesa region, where there is the greatest need for quick access to vital services for people who are unable to reach the aid centers on their own information on social issues, will help in the preparation of documents and solving social issues.  The specialist will provide a case management service: assessment of a person's needs, development of an individual plan of assistance and coordination in obtaining social support from various services and ensuring a holistic approach to protection issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identification of individuals and families in need of social support;
  • Provision of social assistance to affected persons: social services of counseling, information, physical support, representation of interests according to needs, as well as case management;
  • Assisting identified affected persons/beneficiaries in obtaining additional services (medical, social, psychological, legal, providing temporary shelter, etc.), in particular through referral, if necessary, to relevant general or specialized support services for affected persons and/or other entities;
  • Maintaining contact with local authorities and their institutions, as well as other humanitarian organizations;
  • Reporting in the Fund's internal database;
  • Having own car will be an advantage;
  • Comply with the Code of Conduct and Foundation Policies.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in social sciences, law, psychology or humanities will be an advantage; 
  • Understanding current legislation and methods of providing social services will be an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with different categories of the population;
  • Experience working with internally displaced persons will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of privacy principles and work with personal data;
  • Understanding humanitarian principles and gender approach;
  • Attention to details, ability to work in difficult environments;
  • Strong communication skills, autonomy in work, proactivity and flexibility.
