Shipping and Logistics Manager in Colorchrome

Job DescriptionThe Shipping and Logistics Manager will work in a high volume production environment, managing a small team shipping framed and unframed fine art and graphics, ranging in size from 8 inches to 20 feet, domestically and internationally. Shipping and Logistics Manager will be responsible for packaging, crating and shipping in a manner prioritizing efficiency and profitability for the company while ensuring safe and timely delivery to the client.Shipping and Logistics Manager will work in tandem with production team members and sales staff, as one team, to meet the highest standards of quality and uphold the reputation of the Colorchrome brand.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and book all freight/LTL shipments and develop relationships with preferred freight brokers to minimize costs and maximize efficiencyCalculate appropriate crate and packaging dimensions for all shipments to safely accommodate a variety of custom products and sizesTrack logistical efficiency and find ways to improve material flow into and out of ColorchromeTrack orders, manage load information, and maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping records for all items entering and leaving facility. Maintain appropriate inventory of packaging materials, hardware, boxes, and crates from various vendorsLiaise with shipping providers’ account representatives to address issues, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely and safe delivery of Colorchrome’s productsCoordinate with Sales Team, Clients, and Clients’ Shipping Representatives as needed to ensure accurate, safe, and timely deliveries of productsEnsure all packages are labeled correctly and picked-up by the relevant shipping companyArrange courier pick-ups and deliveriesProvide all relevant information to Sales Team in a timely manner once job has been picked up or shippedEnsure a clean, organized, and efficient work area is maintainedDemonstrate the daily discipline and desire to achieve goals with limited guidanceEmploy good listening skills and demonstrate professionalism in communications with Team Members and ClientsWork closely with Colorchrome’s Production Team and Sales Team in order to deliver consistently high quality products and services to Colorchrome’s clientsSeek opportunities to contribute in cross-departmental effortsDesired Skills & BackgroundMinimum 2 years’ experience as a Shipping and Receiving Manager for a company with 25+ employeesLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other certifications preferredHighly motivated with a proven track record of successStrong problem solving skills and strategic thinking ability requiredStrong customer service orientationCreative thinking skills - bringing fresh perspective & new ideasAbility to perform multiple tasksAbility to lift up to 75 lbsHigh attention to detailMust be able to work independently and as part of a teamHigh School diploma or GED requiredCompany DescriptionFounded in 1983, Colorchrome is known by art consultants, designers, project managers and artists nationwide as the go-to printer and framer for hospitality, museums, corporations, tradeshows and events.
