DRB is currently seeking a Project Manager with housing restoration.

General purpose positions:

The manager of housing restoration projects will be responsible for managing DRC operations in the northern region (Chernihiv and Sumy regions ), including repair of apartments and houses, renovation of compact living spaces for internally displaced persons, as well as repair of educational or medical infrastructure. The position will be based in Chernihiv with regular business trips to the city of Sumy and the Sumy region.

The position involves managing approximately 10 national level employees.

< p style="font-weight: 400; font-style: normal">Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Choosing the most appropriate modalities of program implementation in the field of housing depending on the context.
  • Designing, coordinating and managing the actions of the DRB in the field housing in the respective region.
  • Ensuring the highest quality of program implementation.
  • Responsible for timely delivery, writing narrative reports and financial review, close cooperation with donors, government partners and coordination mechanisms on the ground.
  • Development of training programs for staff in the housing rehabilitation sector in collaboration with managers.
  • Provide information for monthly, quarterly and annual reports for donors.
  • Ensuring project budget management, financial management and supervision of program activity expenditures, including compliance with minimum

Development of the program and strategy:

    < li>DRB representation and active participation in local housing clusters and/or working groups.
  • Overseeing knowledge sharing between teams and ensuring that monitoring and evaluation results are understood and used for improvementprograms.
  • Promoting the development and growth of relevant programs within the framework of the program objectives of the DRB and contributing to the development of the strategy at the country level.

Accountability and reporting:

  • Guided by the DRC Program Manual, continuously monitor and develop appropriate accountability initiatives within the project program and strengthen efforts to document the impact of activities.
  • Ensure compliance internal and external reporting requirements including procurement.

Team management:

  • Manage staff in the housing recovery sector including training , ensuring coordination, recruitment and skills development.
  • Conduct trainings and adapt training to staff needs.

Coordination:

  • Ensure coordination with relevant participants in the housing sector in the region.

As a manager, the person holding this position is responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for achieving the strategic goals and objectives of the DRB within his area of ​​responsibility.
  • Responsible for making important decisions regarding the activities of the unit: its purpose, functions and role, as well as for making commitments and decisions , which require significant resources division.
  • Responsible for personnel management directly reporting: hiring and firing, goal setting, probationary period, performance evaluation, personnel development, performance management, including resolution of low performance issues.
  • Responsible for making informed decisions based on DRC policies, standards and procedures, as well as recommendations from the organization's technical experts.

About you:

To be successful in this position, we expect you to have at least 3 years of proven experience working in NGO projects in the housing and WASH areas, as well as at least 3 years of HR management experience. In addition, we also expect the following from you:

  • Experience implementing measures in the field of housing in complex emergency situations.
  • Proven experience in implementing measures in the field of housing at the stages of early recovery and development.
  • Experience in implementing humanitarian interventions through partner organizations and in coordination with them is an advantage.
  • Free English is a must.
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is an advantage.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for external audiences (including governments and donors).
  • Experience in creating quality technical materials (training materials, program tools, proposals, strategic documents, etc.).
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation and training.
  • Must have a master's degree from a recognized institution in the field of international development/development studies, international relationsin economics, political science/public relations, business administration or management, or another relevant field.

We offer:
