DRB has existed in Ukraine since 2014. At the moment, more than 700 employees work in DRB in total on the territory of Ukraine. In 2024, the DRB will continue to significantly expand to implement emergency response in the social and legal protection, livelihoods, housing reconstruction and humanitarian disarmament and peacebuilding (humanitarian demining) sectors, providing direct support to responsible individuals and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and as well as their partners. DRB will continue to develop long-term solutions, adapting them to the changing situation.
DRB is currently looking for a highly qualified Fhousing restoration project manager,who will join our team in Zaporizhia.
General positions :
To your duties will include project implementation, reporting and evaluation, including: correct filling and submission of acts of completed works, maintaining a register of beneficiaries who received assistance, with a division by gender, degrees of vulnerability and their number per household. Also, you will monitor the correctness and timeliness of submitted internal reports, proper storage of records and project tools (electronic and hard copies).
Your main responsibilities will be:
Infrastructure and facility maintenance
- Supervise and regularly assess the infrastructure of construction and repair facilities.
- Prepare site work plans and oversee temporary work/contractors as needed.
- Considering the impact of infrastructure works on the environment, from planning to implementation and taking all necessary measures to minimize the impact.
- Identify infrastructure needs with an emphasis on improving access to services for vulnerable residents.
- Pay particular attention to accessibility and the special needs of vulnerable groups, including people with reduced mobility.
- Ensure that all necessary measures are taken to ensure the safety of temporary workers, contractors and building occupants through maintenance and monitoring.
- Coordinate with other departments of the DRB regarding the acquisition of any material resources and the identification of contractors for carrying out repairs at the facilities.
- Perform processes of proper inspection of housing, land and property before carrying out construction or repair work.
- Notify the manager in a timely manner about any gaps and duplication in the provision of services, as well as about any necessary modernizations/obsleaching of the object.
- Community Liaison and Reporting:
- In collaboration with other team members, consult with residents and local authorities prior to building and facility improvements.
- Interact with other team members regarding complaints and feedback related to the protection, maintenance of buildings and structures.
Uphold and adhere to sexual exploitation and abuse prevention policies and guidelines (for facility residents, DRB staff, partner agencies, temporary workers). Support and facilitate the participation of women, youth, people with special needs and specific groups. Consult with the community before carrying out any maintenance work on the facility and infrastructure, so that measures are implemented with their participation, with the active involvement of community members, especially taking into account the interests of vulnerable groups and people with special needs. Provide technical support and contribute to all housing restoration activities. Coordination and Representation
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on matters relevant to the sector.
- Represent the DRB at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings.
Ensure integration with other sectors of the DRB.
Logistics/Finance
- Proactively plan and coordinate the logistics and movement of personnel from and to various operational Districts.
- Initiate purchases and ensure their fulfillment.
About you:
To be successful in this position, we expect you to have at least 3 years of professional experience in in the field of humanitarian response in an international non-governmental organization, UN agency, relevant ministry or local authority. years of practical work experience in the field of non-governmental organizations.
Minimum 3 years of professional work experience as an engineer responsible for construction projects or in a similar position.A confident user of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Skills in working with GIS software and CAD systems are an advantage.Basic knowledge of English is an advantage.All DRB positions require the person occupying the position to possess the core competencies of DRB:
