Pre-pandemic they worked mostly oninfluenza, dengue and norovirus; they’ve now picked upafocus onCOVID. They procure unique data streams that reflect epidemic (orpandemic) activity, extract relevant indicators, and make these publicly and continuously available. They and others then use these indicators for nowcasting (situational awareness) and short-term forecasting. Qualifications and skills Minimum of5years ofexperience inUX/UIdesign, focusing ondata visualization Proficiency intools such asSketch orFigma Strong understanding ofdata visualization techniques and best practices Experience working with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers, statisticians, and developers Excellent communication and collaboration skills Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree inDesign, Human-Computer Interaction, orrelated field preferred Responsibilities Organize and conduct user interviews with end-users, including statisticians, researchers, and public health professionals Gather insights into user requirements, preferences, and pain points related todata visualization Analyze data usage patterns and user feedback toinform design decisions Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mockups for data visualization interfaces Create user flows and information architectures tostreamline data exploration and analysis Iterate ondesigns based onfeedback and usability testing results Collaborate with data scientists and statisticians tounderstand the structure and complexity ofdatasets Design visualizations that effectively communicate key insights and trends inthe data Ensure scalability and flexibility invisualizations toaccommodate various data dimensions (e.g., age, gender, geography, time) Apply principles ofhuman-centered design tocreate interfaces that prioritize user needs and usability Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity indesign solutions Why StartupSoft?
